Today my boyfriend and I took our lunch break in a local park near our jobs… We were sitting at the far end of the park on a bench at 12:30 when a truck pulls up and starts up two industrial lawn mowers. We only have a short lunch break so decided to stay on the bench to finish our lunch instead of spending the rest of lunch finding a new place (despite the noise)…

Here’s a question to the maintenance crew:

It’s lunch hour for many people in the area, can’t you realize that and let people enjoy the park, and do your mowing before 12 or after 1 ?

At first the maintenance guy closest to us was mowing grass far enough away that it wasn’t bothering us. Then, before finishing that section of grass, he makes a Bee-Line towards our area and blows a strip of clippings and gravel in our direction…only to circle around and repeat it!!! A rock hit my neck!

Question 2 – What the fuck was that for!??!?! Why didn’t you finish the other section of grass or at least drive in the opposite direction to shoot your rubble AWAY from us?!

We were eating our lunch then suddenly found ourselves under attack by the crazy landscaper!!

We took the phone number off your truck and are still trying to think of a nice way to ask your manager why he hires Bullies!!

NOT COOL!

Lucky the rock hit my neck and not an eye!

  1. HAHAHAHA this one really made me laugh. maybe you should send them your work schedule so they can make sure to never disturb you again, because in case you havent noticed, not everybody takes lunch the same time as your grandma. wouldn’t it be great if the whole world revolved around you??

  2. I think it’s pretty selfish that the OP expects a maintenance crew to stop working so she can have a quiet lunch break. They have a schedule to keep, meaning parks are going to have to be mowed over the lunch hour. And I highly doubt the work crew “made a beeline” for the OP and her partner…

  3. Jennie – I’m just curious as to why you “highly doubt” the Original Post and think the person is being selfish? I don’t see any reason to believe or disbelieve the OP based on the information given…in fact, it appears the original poster isn’t being very selfish at all, and only upset the crew had no respect for the people in the park… especially when all the guy had to do was mow in the opposite direction to avoid spraying people with clippings and rocks . . .The signature pretty much sums things up:”Lucky the rock hit my neck and not an eye!”Anyway…it’s annoying that there is no respect for anyone anymore…I’m sure the Original Poster realizes landscape crews have a schedule to follow, but at the same time…the landscape crew should respect that people go to parks, and you can’t bully them out just because you are there doing maintenance…
