Thanks student loans, for suddenly deciding that I owe you $1200 that just one month ago you awarded me and my wife due to financial need. Now I can’t afford to fucking eat. Married students without children get FUCKED by NS student assistance. Rot in horrible hell, you make life miserable.

That’s why I’m still engaged while my fiancee is still in school. She gets her loans, and on requirement to pay it back. Yet.
dido.
and btw, everyone gets fucked by NS student assistance….
you’re just at the bottom of the pile.
I mean, does diarrhea make an iceburg shit look good????
get divorced.
I got a pretty good ass raping by NS student loans last month. CSL was all “no, you qualify for funding till may” NS student loans was all “CSL says you don’t qualify anymore so we’re not going to give you any money”…
I’m not sure if this is a problem unique to NS, but there’s a lot more fucktardedry going on on the provincial level than the federal. I’ve never had an issue with CSL. Ever.
I think I learned something here, but just to be sure…
Are you saying student loans are different for married people regardless of the spouses’ incomes? (ie: Even if a person’s spouse makes NOTHING, the student still gets worse loan terms? That’s hard to believe.
Not the province’s fault you and your bride rushed to the altar so you can be trendy.
I was reasessed by NSSL’s in my school days, and around this time of the school year they decided they loaned me too much and wanted some back. Thank god I had opted to pay for tution in full in Sept. Anyhow, I called and enquired as to the terms of this ‘over-payment’ and they are the same as the rest of your NSSL’s which is to say,n you dont _have_ to pay them back until the whole loan is due. I told NSSL they wouldnt being seeing any of their ‘over-payment’ and they could wait until I graduated to recieve payments. Never heard about it again, of course it is included in my loan balanace as it should be.
They are beyond simple to believe they are going to get money from students before xmas/winter term starts, I know I never felt more broke than that time of year.
I am not completly sure, but I believe being married reduces your eligibility for loan $$ because you would be co-habitated, and individual living expenses would be lower. Pretty good logic in my thinkings, but they are still asses for giving one month and taking away the next.
Walter
If you are over-awarded then I hope you all know it comes off your next assessment. So if you are overawarded on your NSSL for $2000 it is coming off your next NSSL assessment and you will be $2000 less what you would have been. Sucks but when you income changes so does your assessment.
But it is a loan and people are lucky to have Student Assistance, where would you be with out it
Yeah… Because student loans are a right and not a priviledge. Suck it up you whiner! I skipped the student loan thing, got a student line of credit and worked full time on top of going to school full time and still came out with a 98.3% average. It’s called hard work and determination. You should try it sometime.
Right on NW, I never understood the people who keep piling on the debt without thinking about how they will pay them back. I heard people in my school complain about how they can’t afford the 30k they owe. We’ll you should have thought about that BEFORE you went to school for 4 years, jackass.
just had to throw in that .3% huh….
I’m sure you’re a treat to be around.
zZz: 96.7% of the time I am a treat to be around.
98.3% average…don’t they only calculate averages like that in high school? 🙂
Miles: And at good ol’ NSCC! Which is pretty much Highschool 2.0
ha ha “Highschool 2.0”
I guess 98.3 = A+ = 4.0 GPA is too much like algebra for some schools. Better keep it simple.
And before you NSCC students get your hairnets in a bunch, relax, I’m just kidding.
Community college is a smart move and great way to get into the workforce faster, with less debt and with a good income.
I’m the same way and get comments like that all the time…
was nice to be able to dish it for a change.
lol @ zZz
That’s just another way of saying “I enjoy being a hypocrite”. Ha ha ha.
…but I think that’s fair game here. 🙂
