Years ago, recently after being legal—I needed a drink on a Thursday night. I discovered that a certain gay bar hosted an “Anything goes talent competition.” It was love at first showtune, and I gave my heart to the two beautiful and effortlessly hilarious hosts. I was heartbroken to discover abruptly that the show would no longer go on. I understand that they had their reasons to end the show, but WHY THE HELL wouldn’t they end with the goddamn Halloween show?? It was advertised! Considering all of the devoted fans that would have been there regardless, had you then stated it would have been the final show, your place would have been packed! The fans deserved it, especially loyal ones like us. —I Don’t Know, I Slept Through the Whole Thing

Just do the helicopter with your peen in the mirror, bro.
I take that back, you should now takeover and become the host. I have faith in you.
In retrospect your Andre Denny imitation, while topical and “edgy”, was perhaps not the best choice, despite the tagline “Anything Goes”

Shaming animals in online pictures is still considered animal abuse. No one will take up the shamed animals side of it though, they’re all to busy defending fat peoples rights to be fat. Those poor animals, I hope life improves.
you know o.p., this shit happens all the time. it drives me fucking nuttier than i am, when they do things like that, and put out no notifacation anywhere.
I don’t care if I’m not part of the little coast bitch section Clique, Furious Styles, you’re a tool. Nuff said.
Infact most of you are tools, the only people that strike me as intelligent or entertaining are ZzZ, Blow me that nurse person and one or two others. The rest are twats. hahhahah suck it.
why thanks ploopy. but there are a lot of good people here. what you read is just from online personnas, and most are not as twitty in real like. ttfn is one hot babe, even tho she won’t admit it. ivan is the war buff, avast0 is from away, and always has something interesting to add. zzz, is a douchebag, but we all love him, so is harper, but the same as zzz. montrealman, is our resident egghead, and brainy as fuck, when he comes down from his ivory tower. there are a bunch of others that contribute to the diverse makeup of the bitch board, and without them, we would be just the chronically horrid paper. so you see friend, we all have our little niche to fill. and on about filling things, where the hell is my honey, woggie?
I know, Blow, it’s a pain in the ass when something good comes along and it doesn’t last for whatever reason.
You know what, though, OB? Be the one that fights for its return. Plead with the owners to bring it back even if a little less frequently; offer to advertise the hell out of it for free; hell, buy tickets to the event and give them out to your friends and family and pack that joint! The powers that be want events to succeed and they need help from their customers to do it. Support them and they’ll support you.
BLOW???? I’m here honey….Don’t get your piss hot ok?
BETWEEN THE EARS: REFLECTIONS ON THE HOMOSEXUAL MIND
“I discovered that a certain gay bar hosted an ‘Anything goes’ talent competition.” I Don’t Know
There is an old saying that sex is between the legs but gender is between the ears. If that is the case, then what is it to be a homosexual? What is the nature of the homosexual mind and is it comprehensible from a heterosexual perspective?
The question drives to the nature of one’s identity. What is it that makes one who one is? It would seem obvious that one’s gender plays a major role in one’s identity construction. Usually there is a direct line from one’s sex – one’s vagina and ovaries or one’s penis and testicles – to one’s gender – one’s femininity or masculinity – but in the case of the homosexual the causal line is not direct. One’s sex and one’s gender are mismatched. This is not a criticism of homosexuality whether on moral or aesthetic grounds but rather it is simply an attempt to determine whether the heterosexual and the homosexual are condemned to live in incommunicable gender solitudes. How can the dilemma be approached? Can any light be thrown on the heterosexual/homosexual distinction such that comprehension can be started?
Neither heterosexuality nor homosexuality is a conscious choice. One arrives with the relevant amounts of testosterone or estrogen as the case might be and so biology and the consequent neurophysiology are off the table as contenders for aids in mutual comprehension. But is this the end of the story? I don’t think so, but we have to move to the social level to get a handle on the homosexual mind. We have to see it not as simply biologically-based but socially-constructed.
For the heterosexual his/her gender is usually transparent. Their gender “orientation,” as the expression has it, is not normally an object of self-scrutiny. One is not go about saying, “I am a heterosexual.” For most of the time the homosexual doesn’t either but there is a difference. The “gay bar” mentioned in the bitch is significant. It is not a regular bar but one, generally speaking, that is patronized by homosexuals. In other words, homosexuals constitute an identifiable minority and to constitute such a minority on a fairly regular basis is to see oneself in the eye of the majority, of the heterosexual Other. And it is just not simply a minority but often it is a persecuted minority which intensifies self-scrutiny.
Is this the distinguishing feature of the homosexual mind, this continuing awareness of one’s difference? Maybe. But there are other factors which might bring the heterosexual/homosexual distinction into greater focus. Is, for example, heterosexual homophobia and racism conceptually identical or can basic distinctions be made? Excluding the bi-sexual, what is the difference between the heterosexual and the homosexually dominant male? Between the feminized homosexual male and the heterosexual female? Between the lesbian female and the gay dominant male?
If anything, these questions point to the fact that gender is, after all, between the ears. Not much, but it’s a start.
A pleasure as always.
Cheerio!
