I was stopped at the bottom of Young Street, wanting to turn right onto Barrington at about 8:30 this morning, traffic was very heavy, there wasn’t enough time or space to turn right safely. You decided it would be funny to honk your horn at me every thirty seconds. It really wasn’t amusing. I am NOT getting into an accident just because you have no patience! I wasn’t happy having to wait that long for a chance to turn, either, but you honking at me didn’t help the situation any! —Trying to be a Safe Driver

  1. That’s why I like the bus, they just pull out in front of everyone, an give the person behind you beeping their the horn the Trudeau Salute.

  2. Some people expect you to just cut traffic off or make the person behind you slam on their brakes like they would do. You should have just sat there until they went around you and let them cause an accident and maybe their license would’ve gotten suspended.

  3. If you were getting honked at you obviously weren’t pulling your weight, so to speak. Get moving, you are on a road, not in a parking spot.

    You should take the bus.

  4. I experiance this daily but it’s usually from the other end, not saying you were in the wrong OP
But a lot of the time one will have a person(car) infront of them and they need to wait until every car in sight is gone before they dare pull out.
It is those people that should take a bus.

  5. Op, you don’t ever feel intimidated to do what you feel is safe, ok? Make that turn when you are good and ready, and not one second before.

Let that guy behind you honk until the cows come home.

  6. Now that would cause some F.O.D., Zedman. Something tells me those 2 swabbies will be scrubbing the heads until the next Republican administration.

  7. I turn right onto Barrington there every single morning, around the same time, and chances are you are just being a puss.
That is one place that you pretty much need to gun it, or wait quite awhile for an opening.

  8. yeah, no shit ivan.
Would have been nothing short of vaporizing in the process…
They should be GLAD they’re scrubbing their recently elongated lives away.

  9. The OB is probably another one of those female passive drivers too scared to drive. It’s not that difficult to make a right hand turn. The car behind you should have given your bumper a nudge out into traffic.

  10. I had an asshole honk is horn at me the other day when i was turning onto jubilee from oxford and i couldn’t turn other wise i would be stuck in the middle of the intersection after the light turned red. I hate ass holes like this. Its called looking around not just whats in front of you. It angered me so much. I don’t know why people are stupid and blind. There are so many people who shouldn’t have their licences.

  11. I was on my bike in a line of many cars queuing at the four way stop at Jubilee and Vernon today, following every rule of the road when the middle aged lady behind me decided to lay on the horn gesturing for me to move aside. I was going straight through the intersection. And as if that would somehow permit her to fly over the five or so cars ahead of me…some people

  12. i’ve never driven that route at rush hour, but you really need to gun it, either way. that being said, let other driver’s judge their timing. i’ve seen impatient honkers getting their way and the poor sap who responds to it, ends up blo_king the interse_tion. what pink said

  13. Yeah, I work nights mostly so I start at 430 and I have to leave about 330 just to beat the traffic only to get to the Mall. Its probably one of the worst intersections I have to drive by almost every day. People are impatient and thats not a good driving skill to possess. I definitely find the drivers much more impatient here then i do in my city in Ontario where I’m from. I am not sure if its because of so many bicyclist or the that fact there are pedestrian walks everywhere. But all i know is drivers in this City need to calm down.

Did you read this part, OP? Please dont let honking drivers or some of the negative comments on this thread turn you into an impatient driver.
