I miss Halifax and the Valley. Southern Ontario is a fucking lame, no-culture shit hole! No good music, PATHETIC farmers markets, barely a microbrew to be found, drinking and driving seems to be a sport (got rear-ended on Saturday by a drunk with no insurance in the middle of the afternoon!) and racist jokes seem to pass for intelligent conversation. I understand OP. I was in small town Ontario for a year before I moved back. The job market was the same there as here, rent was more expensive there (about 2 hrs away from Toronto) and the people in the town were more backwoods.

Well this is new bitch! And you sound like my boyfriend! He is living in Worstcase Ontario right now and is from here and has nothing but horrible things to say about Southern Ontario. They think the holes they live in are paradise and that we’re just like a third-world country over here. At least we know the holes we live in are holes :D! And we get pretty views from the ocean in these holes.

Haha. Move to another town or another part of Ontario. Eastern Ontario is pretty good. And they have microbreweries. That said, “maritime culture” is overstated, unless you’re implying racism and lazy attitudes. Euphemisms include “quaint” and “easy going”.
