So it’s the holidays once again. All the stores are packed with people shopping for their loved ones and friends. The roads have people driving a little more crazy than normal. Everywhere you go there are Xmas ads and music playing. You can’t avoid the commercialism going on. The pressure to get gifts might even be another thing hanging over your head. Keeping all that in mind why do most bother to do this routine every December? For family traditions and the quality time spent with the ones who are close to you. What is the point to this Bitch? Yes the holidays can be stressful and annoying but the pros outweigh the cons. So do yourselves a favour and try to focus on the good end of the holidays. —Xmas is the Time for Family, Friends, Memories and Smiles

  1. Why stress? It isn’t like a surprise…….. same date every year……….ya would think people would clue into this fact.

  2. After decades of stressing myself silly over Christmas, Hub-Unit and I decided enough was enough – we’re not exchanging gifts or putting up a tree this year (actually it was my daughter’s suggestion) – we’d rather put out for a nice spread for family and friends this year. Therefore, no holiday stress and IT’S FUCKING WONDERFUL!!!

  3. I couldn’t agree more with this bitch. Too often people get wrapped up (pardon the pun) in the commercialism and all the stress and bustle of Christmas and it’s easy to do. But if you can avoid all that crap and just focus on the Real reason of the Season, (and that may be different for everybody), then it makes it so much more enjoyable and happy.

  4. “You can’t avoid the commercialism going on.” Umm, yes you can. I’ve been doing a pretty good job so far because I a) don’t have TV, b) don’t listen to the radio and c) avoid shopping malls and big box stores like the plague.

  5. agree with all the bitches, why get stressed? i just spent a bunch of money at global petfoods, and got to visit with a lovely cat. s and w, jack daniel’s has a new liqeur on the market

  6. you would think by now people would get that I hate those fucking oranges….
    grrrrr.

the good end of the holidays is…
the end of them of course.
can’t wait to get this shit over with.

  7. i dislike those too zed, the smell is nauseating. i much prefer clemmies, unless i get a seed. ya know if you swallow one, a tree will grow in your stomach

  8. LOLZ, I remember when I was a little girl (8 or so) going to my cousin’s wedding and stealing ALL the after 8s from all the tables before the reception and eating at least 200 of those each.

    Heh.

  9. I’m assuming you then proceeded to throw up a massive ‘after 88’ in one big pile on the floor…

  10. Yeah, I never really liked the chocolate oranges either.

You know what else I fukin hate? When you tell someone “I hate/dislike/despise/loathe/don’t like” something and then they give it to you as a gift and say “I thought you said you liked them” DIDN’T LIKE! I SAID I DIDN’T LIKE THAT THING! (I don’t actually say that but I’m thinking it)

And then for some reason YOU feel like an asshole, when they’re the ones who couldn’t be bothered to pay attention to you when you were talking to them.

    lol happy holidays guys 🙂

  11. Miss you guys. For the last 10 years I have said THIS is the year that I will make my own crystallized ginger. And this year, it’s true! Started this morning…it will take 4 days before it’s done…

  12. Awesome PG, I’ll bring some to the summit for you! 😛

You better let that poor red headed kid go Xeno

    Zilla, you’re slippin bruh..

  13. I am already planning what type of booze to mix with the ginger syrup, once I pour it off. Gin and Ginger (yum!) ginger cosmo, Drambuie…didn’t realize I’d have two products here—shoulda done this years ago!

  14. that’s ingenious zed, less mess than a watermelon…not fond of watermelon flavoured, anything^^rum is only good in a dark and stormy, mmm crystallized ginger punch

  15. There’s a very nice ginger wine for sale at the seaport farmers market that is maybe something similar to what I’m making (right next to the Pastie stall). We got to talking one day when I tried a sample of her (N/A) ginger wine. I said it would be good with gin; She laughed and explained that it was first marketed as an alternate to alcoholic spirits, but people soon discovered what an awesome mixer it was! Anyway, you should try it, Painey if you don’t like eggnog (although how someone who loves eggs benny as much as you do could hate eggnog is beyond me…) cheers!

  16. sweet vs salty, the salt always wins. eggs are magical things, especially when you are making flourless cookies

  17. families are broken, friends are few, memories are traumatic; Christmas is about more than tradition too.

  18. families are broken
    friends are few
    memories are traumatic
christmas is about more than tradition too
    love it lou

  19. That was pretty funny, More: “Tis the season to shut the fuck up and stop being such a little fucking whiny bitch!” lol

  20. Oh Hamburgers!. >: ( Gentle Hugs for Painey. Treehouse time or did you put too much effort into making cookies this week. Rooooooo

  21. it’s me spine, going to see my pain doc next week, i wuv him. i have been baking lots of cookies but that has nowt to do with it^^

  22. Loved the video Mel. It amazes me how some people have an ability to interact with “wild” animals. To have that kind of love, patience and respect is truly inspiring.

  23. Chocolate oranges rule! As does eggnog! The oranges seem to have their haters though, which is pretty much everybody I know. Oh well, more for me!!

I have ambivalent feelings about this time of the year. Though I like the time off, the food, the football, I dislike the commercial hype and the aforementioned shortness of daylight hours. I don’t mind Christmas music, there are a lot of nice new tunes this year. Although all that said, I would enjoy Christmas just as much without all the presents, decorations and hype.

  24. I like that one too Xeno, its been a christmas favorite here for I believe this is xmas #5 !
I first was introduced to Foamy ,by a friend from the USofA.

  25. the holidaze are an eff’n nitemare for hospitality peeps..too busy, no time off,and unrealistic expectations from cliental ..be glad when it’s over
