So after leaving a lovely evening with friends at Geeks vs. Nerds I came out to discover that the driver’s side mirror of my car was completely smashed and hanging by a thread (which promptly gave way when I touched it). What should have been a terribly frustrating/upsetting episode was salvaged by the awesomeness that is the Haligonian mindset. Not one but TWO people left notes saying that they witnessed my car being hit, complete with the license number and their phone numbers so I could contact them! It’s still going to be a frustrating time filled with police and insurance people (and it would have been nice if the douche who hit my car had left a note too) but overall I’m left with more warm fuzzies than murderous rage. So thank you good citizens of Halifax. You maintain my faith in humanity. —Wounded Civic
