  1. I worked at a local hotel for a few years long ago and a constant complaint from guests was “You gotta do something about these hills”… Like what? A tow rope? Easy-Glider stair lifts? How about a funicular from the Ferry Terminal to the town clock?

  2. There is more than one hill. Citadel Hill. Cowie Hill. Lots more. Herring Cove and Purcells Cove roads are all up and down hills. The North End is a hill (and if you don’t believe me, go over to the baseball diamond and try sledding in the winter. That is a great hill). I think we just need to promote the upsides of hills (no pun intended).

  3. one hill?
    just one???
I’m pretty sure clayton park is pretty much all built on a hill….
and st margaretts bay road or percells just past the rotary goes uphill a ways…

still.. I don’t see the problem.

  4. And let’s not forget the hills in Dartmouth, Bedford, Lr Sackville and the out lying areas. One of the reasons bikes are not so big here.

  5. NGF… +1.

If you’re female, you can call LS for a ride in his crown vic….
I’d recommend sitting in the back seat though.

  6. …all the better to pounce on the unsuspecting ladies. Yay for LS and his shaggin’ wagon. he’ll take you for the ride of your life. Just ask him. Bet that backseat has seen some action – the way he tells it!

  7. He told me the last date he was on, he kept asking the girl if she wanted to go into the back seat and she kept refusing. After the fifth time he asked her “Why not?” and her response was “I want to stay up front with you”.
Kinda put him off blondes for a while…

  8. what kinda freak complains about a cities lie of the land holy shit that’s like complaining that Venice is too wet or Amsterdam is too low 🙂

  9. the o.p. must not get out and around much then. there are dozens of fucking hills in this city, if you don’t know where they are, they you don’t live here.

  10. ahhhh, come on guys, i’m not quite that bad, yet. and zzz old son, it’s a lincoln mark 7, not a crown vic. there is about 12,000 in the difference. and the back seat has never seen anyone or thing in it. just the drivers seat that is computer controled for moi. gotta love that comfort form seat.

  11. As the song from Marry Poppins goes “The Hills are alive with the sound of stunned fucks”

Anyone with half a fucking brain would know that Halifax is riddled with hills.

  12. right… I was too lazy to go back and check so I took a guess….
not that it makes a lick of difference in the grand scheme of things.

  13. Pardon me, Baz, me thinks you mean… Sound of Music. Same Julie Andrews, different country/era. And no umbrellas.

  14. Only one hill in Halifax?

OP – are you bed-ridden and the size of a piano??!!??

Get outside once in awhile. There isn’t a level stretch of pavement within a hundred miles of that sewage treatment pond we call a harbour.

  15. You got that one right Painey. “Mary Poppins” made me wish that Jack the Ripper had expanded his purview beyond the rookeries of Whitechapel. And I don’t think that Penis van Lesbian and his chums from the Royal 69th Chimneysweeps and Urchins Battalion were singing Supercalifrag-ohgofuckyourself when they went over the top on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
And “The Sound of Mucus” actually had me rooting for the Germans and not in a legitimate, “Das Boot” type, What a great movie! kind of way.

  16. you should write alternative movie reviews ivan, for the angry viewer “das boot” awesome movie…i wanted to beat mary with her freakin umbrella and chuck her down a chimney… and poor christopher plummer putting up with all those brats and the noise, noise, noise

  17. I don’t mind the hills downtown.

What I DO mind is that cocksucking hill at MSVU.

They need to blast that fucker flat. Or, you know, just close the whole thing and blast it flat. Either or (though, I vote the latter)… but that’s a WHOLE other bitch onto itself.

  18. now now pk, cocksuckers are useful but not those nuns up there…6th level of hell here i come

  19. Yeah, MSVU, that stalwart institute of education where what we taxpayers get from it is some twat complaining about a fucking “Men Working” sign. Man that young woman needs to get a grip. Who the cares what it says as long as there is a fucking warning.

  20. And here is zZz’s Utterly Unsolicted, Mind-Roasting, Totally Useless Trivia Fact of the Day.
The Type VIIC U-boat mock-up constructed for the surface scenes in “Das Boot” also featured prominently in “Raiders of the Lost Ark” In fact, at some point during the second unit filming it actually sank accidentally but fortunatley Speilberg had shot enough footage .

  21. kule ivan…christopher plummer and elliot gould in “silent partner” filmed in the eaton center

  22. Fuck me – I am losing it – maybe it was Mary Poppins being boned while listening to the Sound of Muzak?
    Supercallafrigmyarsesmellsatrocious

  23. I think the OP means that halifax is like one giant hill, not that there’s literally only one hill in halifax.

  24. good thing they didn’t ferry over to d-town.
that place is a range of dirt piles everywhere.

  25. Stop feeding the American tourists so much shrimp and lobster! You’re not helping! Some of them already need those electric tricycle carts!

  26. Sorry NiceGoin’Fat but I don’t drive people around, I drive over them. 🙂
Shouldn’t you be out lactating in the sun and watching your cellulite folds flap in the wind?

  27. Only hills in Edmonton are along the North Sasky River. And man them’s some big hills! Other than that, the city’s flatter than Calista Flockhart’s chest.
