I HATE MY SCHOOL! Yeah ok that’s what all teens say. But this one has taken suckitude to a whole new level. No joke! Cliques, drugs, smoking in bathrooms, unaffordable/unhealthy lunches in the caf, not enough textbooks, sucky library resources, printers & computers that don’t work, horrible class control, fights in the hallways… The few decent teachers who are there don’t give a shit anymore.
LIKE C’MON. This is supposed to be a school not a play pen for drugged out teens to cause shit. —Hated

yeah, i know it sucks. try to hang in there and then leave it all behind when you escape. it could be any highschool, i couldn’t even try to guess
It ends O.P. Keep your head down, your eyes open and never look back. Don’t let “The Walking Dead” >; ) hold you back or drag you down with them. They aren’t worth it and the power they seem to wield is miniscule and very temporary.
Hell, no, dude, fight the power! Is there a student council at your school? If not, start one! Is it an ornamental senate? Put some hair on it! Occupy your cafeteria! Do something!
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
Margaret Mead
ooo a *walker* reference…very good. remember op for some of these feckers, highschool is going to be the highlight of their lives
High school will barely register on your consciousness after two or three years.
BUT I am sure that that gives you little comfort now.
Good for you for speaking up! Student council is a good idea, but how about a letter to the editor?
There are a lot of problems in the schools caused by cutbacks, not enough teachers, etc. and there are so many arguments about taxpayers vs. teachers vs. the union vs. the school board, and so on (here and elsewhere). But we very rarely hear about how these issues impact students who should be our first concern.
Your description sounds like my high school (20 years ago – yikes!) and unfortunately probably much like high school 30 years ago, 40 years ago (wow – that only takes us back to the early 70’s!!)… so it sucks, but that pretty well sums up high schools through the ages BUT, I do think things are getting worse, which is why you need to be heard.
You’ve heard it all before, but as much as you hate it now, this is such a short part of your long ride.
things are definitely more dangerous, gone are the bloody nose days. xeno is a great teacher of minds op and gives good advice but stay safe
Damn, sounds cool. OB, egg on the fights. Makes for great entertainment.
I second (An Ivan Gone too far) Words of wisdom. I went to a simillar school OP where some serious stuff went down, and more than half of the teachers stayed out of it because they were afraid of the students. I was pelted with insults, threats and shitty cafeteria food every single day. You have made it this far and survived, you will go on to bigger and better things: It may be hard to see now, and you’re probably tired of hearing it:) But it’s true, high school will be less than a blip on your brain in the amazing years to come, and the people in it will fade so fast you won’t even remember their names if you tried. If stuff gets too heavy and you need some help, try talking to someone outside of the environment, family, friends, counsellors, or even kkidshelp phone(they are anonymous) Don’t worry ,trust me, Everything will not just be okay- it willbe better than you can imagine”) Don’t let those assholes stop you from life.
and you can always come here, all are welcome

ooo frank…jesus thinks you’re a jerk
think it’s bad now kiddo, wait til you have to live in the real world. without mommy or daddy to pay for all your toys and dope. then come and tell us if, if you survive, that is.
Same shit, different decade – many generations have endured and survived it (except for my late buddy, Eddie, who played russian roulette with a nail gun) – suck it up, kid, it’s the rite of passage of every teen movie made in the 80s.
Hated & harrumph – Yep, exactly the same in the ’70s, except we didn’t have “printers & computers”, we had spirit (sniff sniff) duplicators & calculators.

Doesn’t sound like it’s changed much in the last 30-35 years other than we had fewer pregos and the drugs were mainly marijuana and hash.
OB ignore the crap and get through doing your best. Don’t be like the rest of the losers.
Well, the customer is always right. Garbage in, garbage out.
Parents don’t teach discipline or respect to kids anymore in this country; too afraid to turn off Call of Duty; kids can’t be told what to do, can’t fail a kid, can’t even have a school without a Police Squad on the premises… politicians raping our school funding for their pensions and French schools…
Tell me why that’s the school’s fault.

get used to it. Real life is pretty much the same thing except that you have to pay your own way. 🙂
Life will never be this fair to you again. So my suggestion? Use it to learn something useful.

high school is stupid. you don’t need it really. i rather enjoyed it though cause i like learning useless stuff. high school is full of that.
Wow! Do you go to Fenelon Falls Secondary School? Because you just described the high school that I went to, and for that matter every other public high school in CANADA! Get over it OB your high school is no different than anyone else’s. Just suck it up and try to make the best of it.
yeah, but they live this day to day and i’m glad they can vent here. i might be an old hag but i remember
Suck Life, High School is definitely worse than ‘real life’. At no other time are you sequestered with your age mates performing humiliating tasks to see who is best.
Hated, this should be some consolation: You will love college. People will appreciate what makes you unique rather than how well you fit the mold. Hold on and keep your grades up so you have your choice of fine colleges.
