First off, I would like to say that I have a deep love for online classified sites and the amazing deals you can find on there but lately they seem few and far between. Seems like I come across some ads that are ridiculous! Yes, you have the right to sell your furniture at whatever price you want… but remember; It’s USED. I’ve seen couches/sofas for hundreds of dollars. Beds, dressers, appliances and electronics for almost the same price you could buy it brand spakin’ new!? What’s up with that?
I would also like to mention the insane amount of pets that are on these sites to give away. Pets should be a lifelong commitment, not something you get rid of because your child lost interest. What are you teaching them? I can’t even stand to look at the free section anymore… Ok, my blood is starting to boil so I will stop now. —High End Bum

h.e.m., my thoughts exactly on the pet ads. if you get an animal, make fucking sure it’s the one you really want, not one, that you will get tired of after a couple months.
gettings pets for kids are the worst type of shit you can do. kids tire of them after awhile, and then they get tossed or given away.
and the other ads are pure fuking idiocy too. yes, asking new price for used shit. people are fucking crazy someties. i like jiji, it has all kinds of shit for free, or to swap, but even they are getting over the top. other than that, the site is pretty good. i have gotten a lot of shit from there.
..i think some peeps start on the crack pipe too early..hey put the pipe away till after you communicate with the outside world there crackie..:)
Some people ar overly attached to furnature, and value it too much.
They feel that since it’s only a year or 2 old, it should only be depreciated a little. On ther other hand, for $350.00 my cousin got a couch, 2 chairs, 2 end tables and 2 floor lamps, all ess than 2 years old. Seems that a guy moved his new girlfriend in, and no way was she using his ex’s stuff;)
Giving an animal away for free shows how much you value it.
People should check with their insurance company to see how much their shite is worth once it’s used…
A friend paid $2700 for a bed (including mattress etc.), and 2 years later when it was damaged in a fire, he only got $350 for depreciated value from his insurance co.
I have some furniture to get rid of too and will be using those sites. Moving in with the bf- he’s gotta move his shit over 😉
Well, my stuff is in nicer shape or I’d be willing to sell my stuff too.
That’s one thing I’ve learned, don’t value your “stuff” to much. And really, when you want to get rid of it because it’s cluttering up your life, why not give someone a deal? I don’t want it anymore, I’ll take some $ for it, then everyone is happy.
Oh – and I just took a couple of bags of clothes to a women’s shelter this weekend too. A couple of ladies were enjoying the sun at the entrance and were very excited to see some new stuff. It was all gently used stuff that I never wore much and I was purging. That gives you a whole new perspective when you can give things that mean nothing to you and make another person’s day.
But OP.
It’s VINTAGE.
Don’t forget you can also buy children on there, and fawns! 🙂 Use the children for yard labour, and the fawns to maintain the grass.
I hear ya OP, I’ve been looking for wedding stuff on kijiji and can’t believe the prices people put on wedding dresses. I mean seriously, your 5 year old wedding dress is not worth $1000. I don’t care how much you bought it for, styles change, it’s been hanging in your closet without being dry cleaned and you live in the middle of nowhere!
I did get my kitty off kijiji though – she’s never had a better home than with me! People think adult cats aren’t as cute as kittens and never want them and it breaks my heart. I always tell people, my cat is affectionate, a bit lazy and sweet, and I’ll never have to go through the kitten stage where she claws everything to pieces and runs around like crazy in the middle of the night.
I hear ya, hollah! My current pair of kitties were GREAT as kittens (it’s their breed — they don’t ‘play’ and they don’t scratch things: they’re mainly lazy fuckers), I’ve had cats who were NIGHTMARES as kittens.
Though, that cat was an asshole even when it grew up, but still.
I loved kitten molly and oscar, but if they weren’t mine I’d still take them in a heartbeat as an adult. I even have a waiting list for Oscar if I ever, for some reason, have to find a home for him (like, if I DIE, because that’s the only way I’ll separate from my babies!!!). My grandfather even calls him “his cat” when he comes to visit. Oscar eats that shit up with a spoon (and he’s everyone’s friend! except when this dirtbag friend of mine would come over and he’d sit on top of the tv and stare him down. Cats know, my friends. Catttts know.). 😀
Oscar can even tell when my mom’s going to have a seizure. No joke.
Hollah — if you’re in the market for a wedding dress:

heh.
Posting that was mean, wasn’t it?
Aww I got Milo from Kijiji too, as a kitten. Three years later, he’s still running around like a maniac (especially when its really windy like last night). He kind of looks demented when he does that. Running forward with his butt sort of sideways, tail puffed, ears turned back and down..
And I too don’t get this people who get kittens just because they’re cute and then find a pet free apartment and get rid of them. If you get a pet, it’s a commitment! It means that you will need to get pet friendly apartments. Not a big deal, they are loads, it just takes a little bit of looking around.
Some people should not be allowed to keep pets. It is unfair to the pets..
Every year in wolfville the shelter gets an influx of cats around the end of April because all the students who get cats and can’t take them wherever they’re going just drop them off there. It’s SO sad. Cats DO get attached to their human(s), you know!
I wouldn’t even DREAM of getting rid of my kitties. I’d die before I had to get rid of them. If you can’t think far enough a head (past the current school year), don’t get a fucking cat.
Hollah, as I was looking for ugly dresses on Kijiji, I stumbled upon something that may help you.
http://halifax.kijiji.ca/c-PostersOtherAds…
She sells dresses (new, not used) from her home so offers reasonable prices, might be worth checking out 🙂
(I don’t know this lady, I just thought it may help)
Best of luck
I have a dress I should get rid of. I keep forgetting it’s taking up space in my mom’s closet. Heh.
It’s actually pretty and simple. I should get it cleaned and post it so youse foo’s can make fun of it.
Would it be wrong to buy this now even though I can’t even get a date? (poor PK)

*lesigh*
No, you need a baby first!
Hmph.
How the hell am I supposed to find a baby daddy if I can’t even get a date!
LOLZ.
I dunno, make one up! Since you’re so good at making things up! Poke holes in a condom? trap him? heh
Can’t you see how hurt I am!
Hahaha I was actually like legit sad for a moment that you weren’t pregnant. Weird.
Aww! I’m sorry 🙁 I really wish I was too *sniff*
I wanna babby too! *hmph*
do they give them out free on kijiji when people get sick of them?
hey ms kitty, your boyfriend is on the electronic nipple
mmmmm sexy!
Sometimes things don’t work out. I am so glad that people do the right thing and try to find a new home for their pets they’re not able to care for anymore (and it doesn’t matter what their reason is) instead of stuffing poor fluffy in a burlap sack and throwing him off a pier. I’d rather people only commit to pets if they’re able to too, but they’re doing the right thing taking their pets to shelters, re-homing them with friends, and even placing kijiji ads.
