…no you can’t count on my fucking vote at election time. You know who I’m going to vote for – whoever doesn’t fucking call me on my home phone every other god-damned day to ask for my support. Put down the receiver and do something useful, will you!

  1. Yeah, I don’t want to vote for anyone who bothers trying to involve me in the elections process by telling me about their platform and giving me a good opportunity to voice my concerns to them. I just want to sit at home sipping beer until the election quietly passes so I can bitch about how our elected officials don’t do enough.

  2. I can feel feel this OP’s pain. After getting several call’s from NDP reps I finally voiced my concerns about them and why I probably wouldn’t be leaning towards them…oops.

Now I am cowering in the corner of my house trying to hide to get away from a certain campaigner. It’s gotten to the point of harassment in my eyes. One day I got 5 calls from them, 3 of them being from the campaigner herself, within the hour..last one being about 9:45 at night. That’s a little ridiculous in my eyes.

  3. I don’t like to be badgered either. I interpreted the OP’s post as being the standard campaigning interaction of having reps from the various parties calling or stopping by one or twice, not what you describe FA. That frequency would piss me off tout de suite.
I like to see that the people I am voting for are making the effort to connect with me, but 5 calls in day is excessive. Did you speak to someone each time, or did they just leave 5 messages?

  4. I spoke to someone all but twice, once I missed a call and the last (in my eyes) excessively late call I recognized the number so ignored it. I don’t mind what you are describing though of course..I’m just sore on that subject right now lol

  5. 1falling, you sure it wasn’t a union rep, since CUPE is making calls on behalf of the NDP. Now they say they’re just calling union members. Yeah, sure.

  6. I don’t think so, possibly at first but the last of the calls were made personally from said party leader.

  7. However, I guess I should correct myself. In all fairness to the party, after receiving a couple of calls, on the 3rd one (not in the same day however) I did voice some concerns I had about the party. That is what led into the other calls of that day.
