Please get your shit together. I would personally LOVE to have the work schedule up, at minimum, a week in advance. But instead, week after week, we continue to get the schedule one DAY before the new work week. WIth most of us working the same shifts (except for the occassion when you decide, just for the hell of it, the throw in random shifts) I really don’t see why you would make it this hard on yourself, and us! I would really like to make plans or a vacation but I find myself having to wait around for your stupid schedule.

And FYI, you’re also violating the nova scotia labor laws by not giving us a week’s notice on our work schedule. But hey, this is Nova Scotia, it’s not as though minimum wage workers have any rights at all. We’re all completely complacent in this seemingly flawless dark ages race called “who is the most desperate for employment” —I heard in Ontario and BC you actually have rights.

  1. ‘…And FYI, you’re also violating the nova scotia labor laws by not giving us a week’s notice on our work schedule…’

Didn’t know that – my old pencil-necked-anal-cavity-sucking-on-an-esophagus-hose boss always gave a weekly schedule to the staff on the Friday prior – and change it ad naseum until the following Friday.

To be away from that passive-aggressive fucktard was the greatest retirement gift ever.

  2. You want to make plans for a vacation? Tell the person you are going on vacation. This ‘boss’ is not a mind reader. Sheesh, let’s plan a vacation around the scheduling roulette.

Oh look, I have a day off next week. Let’s book that trip now and we can fly to the airport closest to home only to return again that evening because I am on the schedule the next day. Fuck off.

  3. I suggest that OB offer to make the schedule for the boss. Then OB can write on their resume that they have experience in Business Planning and Event Coordination. If successful, this will open OB’s path to the “Halifax Dream”: low wage and temporary white collar position as Social Media Expert/Event Planner.

  4. Simple – throw it back in their face! Gather your coworkers and you all agree that you aren’t available on certain days/times. When the schedule is posted, you all say “Oh! Sorry, I’m not available.” Things will change, and quickly!
