  1. yep- agreed all radio stations now seem to suck. it does not even matter what you are into for music- they all repeat so much that it is…oh i can’t even get started!

  2. Don’t bother listening to them. Seems like the only alternative is satellite radio or talk radio where you get people debating/talking about current events that may interest you. At home, you might as well stream music via internet to get the commercial free variety of music you prefer.

  3. I think the record industry should be suing the radio industry for the constant decline in album sales because radio continues to get suckier and that causes everyone to resort to downloading their music illegally to actually get to hear something good.

  4. Subsonic – Hal 89.9 is a classic rock station. If you don’t like ” classic rock ” then you shouldn’t be listening to them. After suffering through the last 10 years of boy band and britney on one station, and crappy punk/hard rock on stations like the Q… I’m lapping up Pink Floyd and AC/DC and Neil Young all day long. Although they could mix in some other classic bands at any time. The sooner the better!

  5. i agree with Justin on if you don’t like classic rock don’t listen to a classic rock station. I gotta say that listening to the DAL campus radio is more amusing than the Q, but I wouldn’t classify the Q as punk or hard rock, I would say it’s a classic rock station with a heavy mix of pop crap. I guess you can play what ever you want when you one of the few games in town. Once Sat radio comes down in price you’ll see (well hear i suppose) alot less people on FM on alot more on the S band.

  6. I remember hearing them play The Clash …once… on Q104. I guess thats all you need to qualify as a “punk station” in Halifax ;)But with all seriousness, I just want a station that doesn’t play any nickelback, is that too much to ask? I’ll take Patio lanterns by Kim Mitchell, or Strange Animal by Gowan, over nickelback anyday!

  7. If you’re at home i’d Highly recomend listening to Edge 102, one of the best new hard rock/punk stations in canada…. it’s based out of toronto… http://www.edge102.com these are the guys that put on edgefest every year
