They do have the info, it’s under L/100 km. The reason it isn’t in km/L is that the number gets tiny. And mi/gallon has just been commonly used for the last, I dunno, 80 years. Think of this as a chance to practice your mental math. 1 mpg = 0.425 L/km People need the practice. Everyone is getting stupid and lazy anyway.
What would you rather have: 1 mgp or 0.425 L/Km? In the case of fuel economy, the small the number, the better. Btw salespeople & advertisers, tell me where I can go and legally purchase a measured gallon of fuel. Gallon – American or British? By law, all weights & measures are measured with metric scales.And for those who think metric is not the way to go, here’s a scenario for you: You have to paint a room and need to know how much paint to buy. What would be easier to calculate? A room that is 5.5 metres x 3 metres or a room that is 15’6″ x 12’7″. Tell me how many square metres of paint or how many square footage is that. Quick, work that out on paper. Or how many square feet in 6.4 acres? Or how many feet in 30 miles? Now you see how useless that system of measurement is?
