We met on the net,
Distance, our sole
Apparent foe
Vanquished.
And then,
We laughed, and loved, and danced
Circle full
Together
We skipped over hurdles,
Darted through hoops.
Fearless.
Winter came
Upheld its court
Made berth in hearts
and deepest dark port.
Spiritless and stumbling
Through inner blind alleys
Slipping hands
We let go
Turned
Empty embrace.

Your post is lovely, OL, if you aren’t already a writer or poet, you should be.
This is lovely. Just lovely.
heartbreak purifies, rarefies verb…your being touched by them flatters…i’ll never know if the person who brought this forth has read or been moved…my open heart would stop if i did.
