Haligonians WAKE THE HELL UP. Your lousy casual driving is what causes traffic jams not the volume. A drive that should have taken 6 minutes was extended by slow reaction times, people reading a magazine and blocking an intersection, cell phone use, improper left and right hand turns, “being nice” and not going on your right of way, smoking and chatting to their mates and traveling 30 on a 50. I think by now you get the point. Since arriving to Nova Scotia I took a look at your drivers manual and it is almost the same as Ontario’s. When it comes to your driving exam do you just move the car back and forth like in New Delhi? —Just Follow the Laws of the Road

  1. I didn’t even parallel park on my driving test.
I CAN, mind you… but didn’t have to.

it’s not always just the locals either…
you’d be mighty surprised to know a LOT of folks back home are so terrified that they refuse at every turn to ‘drive’ in Halifax… because of the bustle, traffic, or afraid of making a wrong turn or getting lost or whatever.
when they’re forced to… they lose their fucking minds and screw over traffic SO BAD….

get a few of them in the area and everything just goes all banana-ape-shit.

  2. People do tend to insist on driving rather slow around here, but I’m pretty sure our roads are safer than in Ontario. I’m all for driving fast, but some of those highways are death traps. Just leave your house earlier OP

  3. i didn’t have to parallel park for my driver’s license either zed, that was in ontario. i had to do a three point turn, really tough^^i know people thomas, that refuse to turn left at an intersection because they are so terrified, makes for a long trip

  4. The worst is when people traveling down agricola stop immediately after going through the lights at cunard onto north park.. wtfffffff.. keep driving and merge as you drive, dont stop immediately and block a lane so you can merge into a lane that is VERY LONG and has multiple merging opportunities! backs traffic up daily.

  5. Reading a magazine? Must have been on the Magazine Hill! hahahaha (I kill me).

Just relax people, you’ll get there eventually.

  6. hahaha amen! I asked myself if the driving Handbook for Ontario and Nova Scotia were different too. I have had so many close calls because of other drivers poor decisions in the 6 months i’ve lived in Halifax then I did in Ontario…
