Wouldn’t it be lovely if agro-anarchists were to take it upon themselves and plant gardens/trees there? Is it against the law to plant a tree in a vacant lot? Whoops a bird musta pooped the seed…..make empty space-green space.

Why are you bitching ?
Go out today, along any highway you’ll find small trees that won’t get much bigger , because the highway dept. mulches them to keep them from encroaching to close to the road. Dig up some of these small trees & tonight…GO PLANT THEM IN YOUR VANCANT LOT.
Instead of bitching about it.
Do something about it !
What are you talking about our motto is
“Empty space make it a condo space”
I understand why any citizen wouldn’t just step up to the plate without a second thought. Pragmatism is not popular among HRM bylaw enforcement automatons and one does get to pick and choose their fights…
I heard about a guy who wanted to do something about a vacant lot. It was full of garbage after the spring thaw. He took it upon himself to clean up the garbage. He left it all bagged for pickup on the curb of the vacant lot. Next thing you know the “Letter of the Law” arrives looking to ticket him for littering. Pick-up isn’t until next week sometime… said he’d have to store the garbage on his own property until garbage day to avoid the fine.
Such a lovely place to live.. good ol’ HRM
better yet why not a combo. urban garden/mini-forest?
Kay– that wasn’t in HRM. Out in the province somewheres, airc. Hants, maybe?
I gotta give this one to Kay, It was in the Dartmouth area, I know the guy…
I know the place he/she is referring to. By 2010 condos in that lot.
trees and shrubs do NOT fit in HRM. Pavement seems to be the environment of choice by landowners. haha
i am telling you they ar eputting up condos EVERYWHERE
stupid tree huggers! right, plant a tree in an empty lot, and then when the lot gets developed, the tree gets killed….congrats to you for encouraging tree death.
tehe tree huggers
hahahaha.. Andy that’s awesome.. too funny man:)
True Jane, what’s with the condos EVERYWHERE.
Who’s buying this crap.
What’s even funnier, I went to see a couple, just out of curiosity and the sales people have no knowledge of what they’re selling. They don’t know what materials were used to build it. Have no idea how the building is build. i.e. wood vs steel vs concrete framing. Is it ICF?. One didn’t even know how the building is heated. How the hell are you SELLING these pieces of crap you call condos!
I don’t know if anyone knows the Spice buildings on barrington street, next to ocean towers. Go inside and see the puke colors they chose, It’s like you’re living in a clown school.
