Why can’t more of our city’s traffic lights offer a few measly seconds for left-turns during peak traffic? And some of the lights that do have a left-turn signal don’t have them activated half the time… what gives?
It’s downright dangerous to proceed on green lights in some intersections because of the three, four, five or more vehicles who ‘sneak’ a left turn on amber and red lights. This used to be a rare occurrence but now it seems to be accepted practice to make a left turn on a red light.
Hey drivers (and police officers and traffic experts): These violations can cause serious accidents for oncoming cars… and for pedestrians.
How hard can it be to add a 10 or 15-second flashing light for left turns on some of the busier major intersections? We have the lights already in place. We must have the technology to make them flash for safety sake!

I second this Bitch. I’m guilty of the amber / red dash sometimes; I hate that at some lights only one car gets out per light cycle.
I also agree, some intersections really force you to turn on the red light, otherwise you would sit at the light forever with a continuous backup of traffic idling. Turning left on Jubilee from Oxford can be really bad. one car per cycle.
I find a lot of the lights badly timed. If I start out at a green, I should be able to catch the next few greens on a street by going the speed limit, not get stopped two blocks later at the next set. It’s like the city planners have something against Joe Q. Public and have devised all sorts of petty revenges as payback. And they hate streets that intersect at right angles.
one thing i have noticed, ontario drivers do not do this, because they will get smoked by a car that is timing an opposite direction green light. On the other hand, ontario drivers dont let people jaywalk, those are moving targets. Here, they let anyone cross and back up traffic and shit, but they also will mow ya down if they need to make that amber light
