Does anyone in Halifax know where you can get drinkable iced tea???? I have tried about a dozen places since moving here and have not been able to finish an iced tea drink yet. The mass bottlers do a better job than any of the local cafe establishments. Many places offer fair to good iced tea but Halifax seems to offer dreadful to undrinkable.

Here’s a tip. Make it at home. Really tasty with some organic Earl Grey.
I agree with Dr. Fever, making it at home is really the only way. Start with a decent quality tea, brew it to the desired strength, sweeten to taste and add a squeeze of fresh lemon….voila! perfect iced tea.
Never understood the concept of Iced tea or coffee. My coffee get cold I either reheat or throw it out.
The cheeses are equally atrocious.
Here’s how to do it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOj4MfxSWQg
I order loose teas from a really great place in the states. They make AMAZING teas, which in turn makes AMAZING iced tea. Their CS is awesome too. My latest kick is a peach honey bush herbal tea. Great for digestion and tastes delicious. 🙂
The Sou’Wester in Peggy’s Cove had the best, most authentic Iced Tea, I ever had. Of course, that was quite a few years ago.
Wooww there……..what the hell……with 256 different kinds of beer in Halifax………….your drinking cold tea?
Only problem with making it at home is that it takes a fuck load of tea, and a crazy amount of time. Or at least a giant bag of party ice.
Priceless.
I love Ice Tea and the ShoeShop had a bartender who passed and he would make me my very own pot of iced tea….so after he passed and I went there for lunch and asked for iced tea they said they didnot serve it..I told her I had it every time I was there for years…then realized it was a personal gesture of that bartender and not on the menu….so…
YES if anyone finds a great iced tea place let me know!!
RIP Tim
those arazonia cans are good i dunno tho i hate ice tea
I never thought about making it with earl grey…I love earl grey tea! Thanks fever!!
Everyone knows the best tea, Earl Grey, hot comes from Captain Picard’s replicator.
Smee, you beat me to it !
I definately agree, with all the great beers out there, why would anyone want to drink cold tea !
Didn’t realize there were establishments here that made real iced tea. I must be going to the wrong places. All I ever manage is Nestea, Brisk type, which is even worse.
Earl Grey with a bit of lavender thrown in. Not too much. That’s really good.
Beer? Eww, can’t stand the stuff.
Iced tea or sweet tea?
Iced tea. I use loose leaf tea, prepare it normally, only in a larger pot, add a tiny bit of sugar, about half a dozen bits of lavender petals, rub them between your fingers to release the oil, throw in some ice cubes and let it cool down in the fridge. The lavender is subtle, but you do notice it.
