I’m sick of everyone bitching about the Halifax Rocks Country Concert. Does everybody like Kid Rock? No. But a lot of people DO like him. And unfortunately for all the haters out there, these are the only concerts we are going to get this summer (Donald K has announced in Halifax and Moncton Newspapers that there will be NO Moncton Concerts venues this summer).

So stop your bitching and if you wanted to give your opinion, save it for next year and make sure you get heard BEFORE the line ups are announced instead of bitching about it afterward. —Not a fan, but not a hater either

  1. I know, eh? I don’t care for the lineup either but who am I to deny the people that would want to go? I’m sick of music snobs. They got the Stones, McCartney and Kiss. They’ll bitch and complain when an act that doesn’t qualify as classic rock gets announced. Let someone else enjoy a summer show. Maybe next year, something I’ll like will make it…much to the dismay of closed-minded music snobs.

  2. Someone like Tom Petty would have 100,000 people coming from across Canada and the northeastern US. Still crossing my fingers for a half-decent concert in years to come!

If I’m not forced to work at this hick convention I will be camping far away from Halifax.

  3. My probelm is that I would actually like to see The Counting Crows…not $110 for a ticket kind of like, though. I would pay $40-$60 or so to see them at the Metro Centre but that’s not gonna happen.

So what do I do. Pay an outrageous amount to see one band that I like or stay home. Unfortunately I can’t justify paying that amount or putting up with the crowds and general unpleasantness of being on the commons just for one band.

Now, if it WERE Tom Petty and the Counting Crows…I would definitely be there.

  4. I wouldn’t mind seeing Hot Hot Heat, myself, but no way am I spending that kind of money to fight the crowds. There are plenty of shows happening at clubs around town all week long. The Coast profiled bands in last week’s issue. Why not track some of them down at a local pub?

  5. Concerts are fucking boring. There has to be better big events to do in the city than dull ass concerts.

  6. I couldn’t care less if you want to waste your Mommy’s money on tickets to see Skid Cock. You’ll be the only one there…..well along with the other tone-deaf fools.

  7. Pavillion… plenty of festivals to hit up instead.
a definite plus since they’ev been announcing these crappy concerts.

I’ve yet to go to one on the hill… and it looks like it’s going to stay that way for a while…

  8. I don’t like either line ups for Halifax Rocks, I was mostly disappointed because the promoters hyped it up to be a ‘rock show’ of sorts that would be up there with the shows we’ve had in the past (McCartney, KISS, Stones, ect)

  9. Kid Rock kicks ASS! Most of the haters have no clue what the fuck they are taking about or they are too poor to buy a ticket in the first place. And seeing the counting crows outside will rock too…way better then the MC.

  10. “Kid Rock kicks ASS!”, not that’s an oxymoron if I ever heard one. Kid Rock may go down as one of the biggest hacks in musical history. If you need to base a hit song on two of the most overplayed classic rock songs, you have no originality.

  11. i remember the day that little dude died just like it was yesterday yep just like a moment frozen in time when a little bit of music magic died yep; oh the humanity 🙂

  12. No concerts??? Where are you people living, New Glasgow?

July 26th: Megadeth, Slayer, Testament at the Metro Centre.
Oct. 12th: Black Label Society, Children of Bodom, Clutch and 2Cents at the Cunard.

Oh, and if you don’t like these bands or metal in general, whatever, just don’t say there are no concerts coming. Donald K Donald isn’t the be-all end-all. The last couple of years have seen some of the best concerts ever in Halifax.

BTW, Tom Petty blows chunks and Kid Rock’s a goof. IMO of course, lol.
