I thought that the Explosion was meant to open us up to new bands. I understand the concept of draw, but why are there so many paletteable, hard working, easily matched bands (with plenty of draw) in town being turned down year after year, while one (regularly performing) band shows up without fail? Maybe because it’s a popular band?
“THE CONCEPT OF DRAW”
Could you specify the manner in which “the concept of draw,” like all concepts must since that is what it means to be a concept, coherently unify the various manifestations of “draw? Put differently, does “draw” in fact HAVE various manifestations or is it one, undifferentiated, homogeneous substantive?
A pleasure as always,
Cheerio!
You thought wrong.
Oh my, sounds like someone has a favorite, shitty, hipster band that didn’t make the cut.
Willard, are you talking to me? Could you specify just how I “thought wrong?”
I’d rather have Lexington Steele fuck me to death through my ears then listen to any of the hipster never-going-to-be-famous-or-successful bands that play that wanker of a festival.
I guess all the never-going-to-be-famous-or-successful weirdos and proprietors of Gus’s pub need icons to look up (?) to.
