Just wait until the 5-0 actually nab one of these genetically denuded malcontents, or even better, ventilate him.. Care to guess which grass-roots activists, Members of Parliament, advocacy lawyers, progressive judges and critical-thinking, op-ed writers for free weekly newspapers will be the first to burst their piles screeching about profiling and systemic racism.

welcome to halifax. it isn’t safe. the cops won’t do anything r u kidding???? please. even if they do, they do, the courts won’t. even if they do, corrections will send them home or screw up. this is H-A-LiF-A-X the last of lawlessness in the civilized western world.

but if this didn’t occur, then they would be all good little wangstas. but seriously o.p., what else would you expect with that stupid y.j.a. in place. give em an inch, and thet take your life. bring back the days of openly carrying your own personal sidearm. bet there would be a lot less of this shit going on. and a lot less swarmings too. crime rate would be way the fuck down, if they knew that you could shoot back.
Another example of poor firearm use. The cool sideways aim doesn’t work, learn to use them. They can kill each other for all I care but since they know nothing about firearms, some innocent is going to get killed.
It’s the police fault – how? I guess we could put a Constable on every corner. A bunch of twits decide to “shoot” on another bunch of twits, exactly how are the police to know the when and where?
For each and every one of these criminals that was actually present at that shooting, there’s 5 or 10 or 15 people somewhere in HRM that when they heard about this, whether a few hours later or the next day, either knew exactly who was involved, or had a pretty darned good idea.
You can hang the “coward” tag on the criminals, but that’s entirely missing the point. The real cowards are the witnesses that don’t come forward – the family, friends, acquaintances and others. It’s because of *these* cowards that the police and courts are hamstrung.
We also have this problem now that too many people have this contemptible puerile notion that talking to the cops is “ratting” or “narking” or “grassing”. To that I say bullshit – it’s yet another form of cowardice.
It’s easy to blame the criminal themselves, the cops, the courts…everyone except ourselves. A solution to the problem of violent crime starts with recognizing that.
re realist in Dartmouth your post is bang on Toronto has the same problem only on a much larger scale not long ago there was a fatal shooting inside a club filled with hundreds of patrons, when police interviewed them not one of them seen a thing?? than they complain the police do nothing??
LiSucks, if you want a gun then fine, but to think that if we all had them these people wouldn’t mess and crime would be lower makes me wonder what planet you’re on. Haven’t you heard of that country south of us called america? Anyone can carry a gun there, but do you really think its working for them? Where do you think gangsta culture comes from? I for one would rather not have to worry about the angry ex employees, pissed off high school outcasts and parnoid schizophrenics, and aggresive drunks ON TOP of the gangstas.
