We had packed all the groceries into our back packs and both our debit cards had been declined. We were wondering what to do when you, green broccoli shirt wearing guy, stepped in and offered to buy our groceries for us. We were shocked and amazed and didn’t know what to say. And thanks to the woman in line who encouraged us to accept and said, “Just write to the Coast about it.” —Grateful gals will pay it forward

I did this at Tims’s the other morning. Mind you it was just a coffee, but I feel good about myself.
The guy could actually do it every morning for all I know, but I’ll try and not let my mind wonder towards those thoughts.
Why gather up a bunch of groceries into a knapsacks and wait in line if you both have insufficient funds.
Shoplifting: You’re doing it wrong.
I assumed they pushed the groceries thru on the belt to be tallied up then pack them into their packs as they went. then went to pay and found their cards declined. if it had been me, my groceries would already be in shopping bags by the time the card was offered. same thing.
and cards can be declined for all sorts of reasons. mine got deactivated in error last week because we have a joint account and she was getting a new card activated.
