To all you fucktards who keep comparing Steve Jobs to Thomas Edison, Nikola Tesla and other great innovators, shut the fuck up! The only thing he was good at was selling crap to the masses. —Someone Had to Say It

  1. Actually, the Edison comparison is pretty valid considering that a) Edison was a major douchebag who stole ideas from everybody (Tesla included) and b) Jobs was kind of a douche and stole ideas from Xerox (as did pretty much everybody back then, to be honest).

  2. kind of?
    he was… full fledged.
because they look right purty, people flock for their status symbols…
paying ridiculously inflated prices for locked down, disposable pieces of crap.

    if you’ve had a samsung P2, you’d know what I mean.

  3. The best I heard over the weekend. I was listening to a local radio station and the weekend/holiday/working-cuz-all-of-the-real-DJ’s-have-a-clause-in-their-contract DJ was on talking about basically nothing when all of a sudden he makes the most ridiculous claim I think I have ever heard…”Of all the people who have made major positive impacts on the 20th century, 2 people come to mind…John Lennon and Steve Jobs.” I damn near spit my orange juice all over my scrambled eggs. Excuse me??! Did you just seriously compare Steve Jobs to John Lennon? I laughed my ass off and promptly turned the radio station, as, clearly, this fid had no business broadcasting music on the public airwaves. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.

  4. Steve Jobs dead…get over it !
some of the people who are upset about htis are real fucking dicks…you’d think this guy cured all cancers !

Now a person like that dying would be a huge loss

  5. I don’t know much about Steve Jobs, but I do know that he was key to keeping Pixar alive before the Disney Pixar years. I also think he was involved in creating some of the first blues festivals with Eric Clapton. I think there was a little more to him than Apple.

  6. He bought into Pixar for $10 million and then turned around and sold it to disney for almost $3 billion! (That’s billion with a ‘b’ folks)…so yeah, there was a little more to Steve Jobs than apple…a fuckton of money! I heard he financed revolutions as a hobby. lol

  7. Yeah … cause I can’t find some such article about windows computers … or any other platform out there. I really don’t understand how you can hate on something so hard. Seriously … maybe I can’t understand ’cause I don’t write code, or whatever it is you do … but I know that I use both systems daily and I find it hard to make a choice.

… and yes I find Apple products sleeker and “pretty” … and Mac fangirls make me angry just as much as the next person. I have made a point not to bring my Mac to class … instead I use a little HP, only because of the bad reputation Apple seems to have.

… because you don’t endorse it it MUST be inferior right, like the shows on tv that are stupid, music that’s stupid etc etc. It’s really rather irritating.

  8. Apple only has the grip they do on the market because their counterparts suck soo bad.

I’ve heard good things about the Samsung galaxy, offers the best of both Apple and Blackberry’s worlds.

  9. That made me laugh. How to sell “Made in China” electronic shit is what he was good at, just like that Asian guy downtown selling shit to tourists.

  10. HAHAHA. John Lennon having a major impact? He was a pop star turned greasy hippie. Yes I love the Beatles and respect John Lennon but let’s not lose our brains and become zombie hippies here.

  11. “… because you don’t endorse it it MUST be inferior right, like the shows on tv that are stupid, music that’s stupid etc etc. It’s really rather irritating.”

A girl calling me irritating… *high school flashback*….
If you want to overspend…. far be it for me to try to save you a few bucks.

and you have the causality backwards… I endorse things BECAUSE I find them superior…
I don’t just choose something, endorse it, and that MAKES it superior…
    I’m not a sell-out celeb. *Cough J-Lo cough*
I mean, do you REALLY want a Fiat???
I’m betting they had to green-screen her in because her pretentious ass would never drive that crappy a car.

And I’m not sure what you do… but me hating on apple is akin to regular joe who eats food…. and you’re blocked in with the pretentious organic-only, vegan elitists who pay a shit-ton more for the same thing with little-to-no benefit.

  12. Donk is spot on with her criticisms, Zed. Your attempt to backpeddle is kinda lame. You certainly do play the “i don’t like xyz so you’re an idiot, obviously, if you do” game.

*gasp* someone has a different preference/opinion! Oh noes!

Just wondering: have you ever OWNED any apple products other than your shuffle? Or are you just talking out of your ass?

Whatever happened to ‘different strokes for different folks’?

  13. Save a few bucks … oh please. “you’re blocked in with the pretentious organic-only, vegan elitists who pay a shit-ton more for the same thing with little-to-no benefit.” Heh, that’s funny.

    … and no, I don’t want a Fiat.

  14. not really… I was too busy getting beaten in tether ball….
I hate that fucked up game.

I’ve not owned any other products, no.
I’ve USED plenty… but why would I spend more than I have to on glamorized crap.

different strokes for different folks is fine…
I’m just mentioning as a person who uses a computer 8-12 hrs a day and builds/repairs them in my spare time that you can definitely do better for cheaper.
and I say it repeatedly because, lo-and-behold, it continues to be true.

    and fuck back-peddling…
Right now this company is so hot Steve could take a crap, wrap it in tin foil, put a couple fishhooks on it, and sell it to Queen Elizabeth as earrings.
And then the masses would complain they can’t get the new iShitForEarings and line up around the block, camping out for a week until the next shipment.

    fuck that.
to be fair… RIM is starting to get in my bad books now too…
it’s still not bad enough for me to ever want to switch to an iphone though…

  15. I had prepared a long reply for you, but a moment of pause made me realize that in the grand scope of things, this matters not.

zZz, I hope you have a nice day today. It’s too lovely outside not to.

Btw, I don’t use an iPhone, and never will 🙂

  16. But, see, most ppl who use computer products don’t have yOur experience and have to work with what’s in front of them, and for some of us, the durability and ease of use is worth the extra coin. I didn’t buy my macbook b/c i thought it was cute, i bought it because i knew it would last and i knew i probably wouldn’t be able to afford a new laptop for a long while. And i was right — my macbook is in out-of-the-box condition 3+ years later. Plus it’s given me no problems, OS-wise, whereas Windows has been a clusterfuck of a headache. And i doubt the average schmoe can just go running out the gate with Linux.

  17. Meh. I use Macs and I grew up on using PCs. I much prefer the Mac in most areas but there are some parts of the PC I miss.

I also love my iPod and iPhone.

I’m not an apple fanboy. I hate when people like a brand, they are called “fanboys”. Nobody ever calls Windows users “fanboys”, or other computer companies that people rave about. Only Apple users. It’s stupid.

Also, some of the elitist attitude above sucks ass. Kudos to the people that don’t automatically assume that any brand that makes billions (that’s with a ‘b’) are all about the money and also happen to suck ass. Just because Steve Jobs fronted a multi-billion dollar company and is being considered one of the biggest innovators of the last 100 years despite you disagreeing, doesn’t mean some of the praise isn’t justified, nor does it mean that he did jack-shit all. Be realistic and take your head out of your elitist, anti-everything ass.

  18. ohhhhh negro please pllleeeeeasssse. *rolls eyes*

Pif pif pif (that’s how I laugh now btw).

iPhones pose a problem for me, on a practical level. Clammy hands and iPhone … ehhhhhhh.
… plus it appeals not to me. Meh meh whatever.

  19. You can actually get a sliding keyboard attached to a case for the iphone for all those who don’t prefer touch screens!

I will admit, too, that I’m not a huge fan of the ipod on the iphone. Maybe someone knows how to do this, but I can’t manage to get the display to not go sideways when the device is on its side and it sucks because there’s no skip forward button on side view. PLUS I hate the design of the phones it came with, so in order to be able to change a song while in another app I have to switch over to the ipod or go pay $89 for apple in ear earphones. The BB I was looking at actually had buttons on the side to change your song selection while you’re in another app. That was nice.

Plus it’s too big and clunky for me ipod-wise. So I’m probably going to get myself a clip-on nano for the gym and walking around.

  20. You can’t just double click the home button when in an app? Also, if sideways, click once, then double click.

Not sure if you already know about this :/

  21. Ummmm actually the term “fanboy”(or girl) is applied to people who are overwhelmingly in love with a certain product/entertainment franchise/etc. I’ve seen it applied to both Windows and Linux users as well as Apple/Mac users.

  22. Also, I’ve had a Windows laptop for 4 years now and I’ve had no major problems with either the OS or the hardware, although admittedly I haven’t been using it much since I built my tower about a year and a half ago. It’s also exclusively run Linux since then.

  23. I’ve stopped caring too Donk.

didn’t enjoy one shred of the sun yesterday… grrrr.
I always thought it was fanboi … though google seems to tell me they’re basically interchangeable.

ps, people are so pissed at windows 8 that microshaft are actually LISTENING for a change and altering the start screen display. A little less Tablety please.
    I know! I’m amazed too…

just curious… if I didn’t prefer touchscreen keyboards,
why the hell would I get a phone with only one in the first place?

  24. good ol’ wade barret and…. uh… the rest of ’em.
The only other name offhand that comes to mind is slayter or slyder or something…..
    forgettable.

  25. I wasn’t a fan initially, but now i like it. It’s just the ipod im meh on. And mainly it’s b/c of size- my hands are little! But whateves. Like i said: different strokes…..

  26. Lol bro Tim… I was thinking the Samsung oled variety … unfortunately the highlighter color spandex has been burned into my brain. The color is all that bothered me though really. Lol

  27. http://www.google.com/nexus/
I’ve had it since April and its a real doll. I love the standard android interface and it is completely open.. write a different radio, whatever rom you want, custom backlighting and overclocking! And I still get at least a full 24 hours between charges. Did I mention the insanely bright and gorgeous 4″ screen?
reminds me of that other bitch now haha. 4″ screen – that’s what she said…

  28. Comparing Steve Jobs to John Lennon is well.. like apples and oranges. I would say, however, that the “greasy hippie” will resonate much longer than Jobs.
The Beatles’ and Lennon’s songs will be remembered and covered as long as there is a civilized society. The name John Lennon is also iconic with the sixties revolution which will make him prominent from an historical perspective.
The Apple line of products will be remembered but probably not Jobs.
