Now that the buses are not allowed to make those wonderful stops by certain stores due to “private property” issues I bid you farewell. Taking my life into my own hands without crosswalks does not appeal to me. Feel sorry for all the workers who will have to travel down to the main street in winter, in the dark, to catch a bus while cars are gunning it illegally across the parking lot. Once there they will have to stand in a snow bank as there are no sidewalks on one side of the street. That is an accident waiting to happen. If Bayers Lake no longer wishes to have my business they will not get it. Hoping transit riders agree and take their business elsewhere. —Old School

Any chance that you are really an employee?
B. L. was not friendly to shoppers travelling by bus to begin with, and getting worse it seems. Gone are the days of just heading to a mall and checking things out, if you do not have a vehicle. So things get planned out a bit more and done when renting a car, or being with someone who has one. I save a lot of money not being in the stores as much, as so many ‘regular’ stores have headed to BL or DC, so that is an upside. I try and get many things on line, or in other cities when I can. As for presents now gift cards for many places bought at a grocery store, or cheques work fine.
Most folks have a car so not a problem for most – but we are an aging society, and many drivers may not be doing so soon. But the stores really are not after the older demographic anyway, so couldn’t care less.
gravy!
one less person to deal with in that nightmare of a place.
you want to window shop?
stick to malls bub.
See you later!
Cars aren’t allowed to drive in parking lots?
BL was never designed for pedestrians anyway. There are no malls, only power centres. There are no store fronts to go window shopping, just big box stores. It was never meant for pedestrians, just people with vehicles. (hence the lack of sidewalks and the distance between stores). Dartmouth Crossing is set up the same way, except the “Main Street” shopping section where you can actually walk between stores and window shop to your heart’s content. I’m not saying pedestrians aren’t allowed to shop at Bayers Lake but don’t go there expecting to have the same shopping experience as going to Mic Mac or Halifax Shopping Centre, which ARE designed to cater to pedestrians/foot traffic.
i go to global pet foods and access ns, that’s it
go to access ns?
what the hell for?
they’re so out of the way and 95% of their services are available online….
I would think the only time you need go is to get a new picture done.
I agree OP, Fuck Bayers Lake. What a hell hole
OB< why are you wasting your dollars there? Do you enjoy paying too much? Do you enjoy the overinflated prices? Screw all that, shop online. Those retarded retail staff can't tell their asses from their mouths.
I could care less if I ever went to Bayers Lake. Too busy!!
I’m not sure what the “private property” issue are exactly, but I know transit has wanted to get out of parking lots for a couple of years now, and since then Tacoma, Staples, Ilsley garage, and now Bayers Lake have been axed.
I think it’s about time we left that lot. It will save quite a bit of time and make the unreliable 52 a little less unreliable. It’s not the only WalMart on the 52 either, so I don’t see it as a huge loss.
I will be glad to have less bus people at Bayers Lake. Imo, the number of christmas time vehicle break-ins should go down this year with the reduced foot traffic.
I love shopping at Bayer’s Lake. It’s my one-stop destination for Christmas!!
Mic Mac Mall and Dartmouth Crossing are awesome for buses OP, the parking lots are still a bit crazy but t’is the season:D
