I was just walking my dog down Charles Street next to Joe Howe Elementary School when I witnessed what I thought to be a traffic infraction. There was a police paddy wagon driving backwards down a one-way street. When it happened to drive by again I informed the officers that it was a one-way street they were on. To which they replied
(verbatim) “It’s OK to back up down a one way street.”
So next time I’m headed downtown I’ll try this theory on some of our newer one-way streets, see if the same law applies for civilians. —About To Get a Ticket

  1. I always thought vehicles with ‘restricted’ plates could do whatever the hell they wanted.

    *shrug*

  2. OB ,did ya ever think that they were chasing someone and It was quicker to back up ,then turn around at the time.I guess thinking is not your thing ….

  3. Geez OB. Where were you a couple of days ago? I was downtown and I saw this ambulance just drive straight through this intersection when it was CLEARLY in the left turning lane! lol

Maybe, JUST MAYBE, they were actually doing police work and were out on a call, that thought ever cross your mind there, chuckles?
Maybe they were looking for an address or a person? Maybe they didn’t have their lights and sirens on because it would tip off whoever it was they were looking for? IDK, it could be any number of legit reasons why.
Bottom line is OP, you have absolutely no idea what they were doing, and unless their actions endangered you or someone else, they don’t have to tell you shit.
I suppose you could always try and give them a ticket. Although they’d probably just argue that you were hassling them and trying to fill your “monthly quota”, or something assinine like that. Let me know how that works out for you.

  4. Fuck that on a call shit!!!! That has got to be the tiredest excuse of them all. They were being assholes, because they can and if anyone asks, they “were on a call”. Lame, lame, lame.

  5. Even if they weren’t on a call, their ‘restricted’ plates afford them the ability to pretty much do whatever they want on the road.

Cops don’t have to explain themselves to you, OB.

Fuck off with Being such a busy body!
