  1. Get the bus number and time of incident. Then call metro transit and lodge a complaint. It might help..I’m not sure. But I know that it does in Toronto. I’ve had incidents with bus drivers and I reported them. The operator informed me that they were familiar with that driver and had complaints against him before. So at least they keep records of complaints in Toronto. Maybe they do so here as well.

  2. Metro Transit is like it’s own country that does not have laws that they have to follow. I agree with the last post, complain. I know from my own past experiences it will not help much- maybe these complaints need to be directed to a higher power…any ideas anyone???

  4. if the bus has pulled away from the curb and into traffic the bus driver doesn’t have to open the door as it is for your own protection….so….ummm….tuff

  5. so….ummm….Cyril?Did you RTFA?When I arrived at the bus stop, in front of the doors, the bus was stopped, adjacent to the curb… Then he took off. Tuff? Maybe, but not as tough as you, right smart ass?

  6. I’ve used Metro Transit for 28 years and 9 times out of 10 it is stupid passengers that are to blame and yet it is always the drivers that get the blame and or abuse. So yeah…tuff…smart ass Cyril

  7. It sucks because there really is nothing you can do. It’s not like you have the option of taking your business to a rival company. These guys are union protected. I had an incident a couple of years back (sounds like the same guy) and nothing really came of it other than the incident being placed in his file.Hopefully you’ll have an opportunity to see this guy again and give him the gears.

  8. I have to agree with Cyril, I mean one of the main rules of traveling on transit, is always leave a couple minutes early to catch the bus, never hurt anyone. Most of the times it saves you from bangin on the bus doors as they leave the bus stops.

  9. Some people, please read and reread the op’s statements. The bus was still sitting at the curb when they got there. This has nothing to do with the person being late or being an ass. The driver was wrong in leaving without opening the door to let them in. And if he had the nerve to stop and lecture the rider through closed doors, why didn’t he just open the door and let them on the bus? The person would not have been banging on the door if the driver had let them on in the first place while the bus was stationary and idling at the curb!

  10. Cyril and Sara:You know what? I don’t blame you for thinking I am “one of those people”, because as a long time bus rider my self (I don’t own a car, or have a driver’s license) I have seen many a passenger give a bus driver a hard time for no reason. Or because they are on crack. Or whatever.I on the other hand, consider myself a pretty respectful kind of guy. I am the kind of guy who will thank the bus driver every time I get off the bus after my ride. I address the bus driver as “sir” when asking questions. I realize a little respect goes a long way with someone who deals with the public on a daily basis. That being said, when I am standing at a bus stop, and the bus is at the curb and isn’t in motion.. I expect only one thing: That as a customer of said service who pays a monthly set fee for said service, that I will receive said service in a fair and respectful manner to me. That is not what happened the other night, and the driver was so mean and nasty about it, I decided to take it to a public forum. I’m sorry you don’t agree, but you are certainly entitled to your own opinion – though I would ask if you’re going to have an opinion… RTFA!Mike

  11. They don’t care about the passengers cause they’re at work anyways so they don’t give a shit where we have to go.
