At DaMaurizio’s we Have an elite Chef let’s call him A, who has mastered not only pasta perfection and the art of kitchen service but he has THE BEST GNOCCI in town BAR NONE. That shit about the paddle is shit! My Mom who is a good cook recently ate at “Da’s” and has Idolized this accomplished chef specifically for his Gnocci. In fact, Tom Selleck tipped $100 directly to “A” because he said it was the best food he had ever eaten. So, not to gloat because “A” would not be impressed and would be modest about his skills, Try his gnocci and try to beat it! Sauce always sticks to gnocci, the lines don’t do shit!

  1. You know, this makes you sound like a total douche, and by association, the business associated with you. I’ve been to “Da’s” before, and yeah, its good, but so are lots of other places (Fid, for instance) and while I enjoy Northern Italian cuisine, I think I’ll be avoiding the “Da’s” for a while now.

  2. I don’t understand this bitch at all. Call me low brow, whatever. Is this a bitch though? If not keep you ass kissing comments to yourself.

  3. The name of the restaurant makes me not want to go to begin with. Your presence there makes me want to avoid the city all together!I’ve lived here for 15 years and i’ve never heard of your restaurant. Says something doesn’t it! Is it that overly priced place on spring garden next to El-Mercato? Gf ate there before and said was the crappiest food she had.

  4. Coyotex I am surprised you haven’t heard of Da Maurizio. Same owner as Bish and Il Mercato. It’s really their flagship restaurant. In any case, as much as the OP’s post made very little sense, I have to agree that Da Marizio’s is absolutely the best restaurant in town. The food is really quite incredible.Tho Picollo Mondo’s gnocchi is pretty brilliant as well.

  5. coyotex could you please explain what it is that you think you are doing here??? If you have NOT experienced the restaurants you have named and/or referred to, then shut the fuck up…Shyte,,,a Man can’t take a week off…

  6. Coyotex the Spring Garden resto your gf ate at may have been a place that starts with an “O” and ends with a “x”? The food there truly is absolute garbage. Really terrible. Don’t know how the place ever got it stars. Ugh.

  7. I’ve eaten at the “O” restaurant on Spring Garden quite a few times and had fantastic food every visit. I guess you can’t please all the people all the time. I also think some people aren’t comfortable in a place as modern and urban as that, and automatically dismiss it or label it as snobby.

  8. The menu at O changes regularly so it may be much improved since my last visit. My experience has been that while the food is prepared and presented very nicely, it is about on the same level as pub food in terms of in terms of actual flavor – heavy-handedly sauced and seasoned with sweet and salty leanings. I suspect many children would like it a lot.I think a lot of people will tell others how wonderfully fantastic the food was in such a place, just because its space is so “modern and urban” / chic, without really understanding what good food is.Some people are just that impressionable.

  9. You’re probably right Jammie. For the record though, I’m not one of those people. Food and is my passion. I’m always experimenting with new cuisines and flavours. I subscribe to three different cooking/food magazines. I’ve been on culinary vacations. I try every restaurant that opens within 45 minutes of the city, whether it be a mom and pop joint or an upscale establishment. While I don’t have any formal culinary training, I am definitely a “foodie”.I didn’t mean to go off, I just didn’t want you to think I was one of these people that says a restaurant is good because it has a sleek inerior.

  10. took my wife to NYC this week for her annual “birthday dinner in a nice restaurant”…eight years ago at da maurizios… this year at tavern on the green…both evenings, we said we would always remember…

  11. Glad you took my comment in the spirit in which it was intended, Frannie, and not personally. So hard to walk that fine line in here!Perhaps I should give O another shot. My experiences were a couple of years ago. What do you think of that other swank establishment with a number for a name? I’m on the fence with that one…
