Amen… Crazy old duster trying to take away our beer tents… The nerve…
Crazier than a bag of tomcats and twice as tough – yep, it’s time to take a walk in the ocean, Glorinski.
As much as I may disagree with what the Old Hag McClusky dispenses, I have to agree with Gizmons assessment.
“Gloria has devoted more years to public service than you have likely been alive.”
Exactly why she needs to go, shes past the expiration date… Her 19th century views are no longer relevant.
Well said Gizmons! A society represented by just one demographic ceases to really be a democratic society.
Like you fucktards could do any better.
“Waah, waah, waah, I want to get drunk at Natal Day”
“Waah, waah, waah, My south-end house is too expensive”
“Waah, waah, waah, I’m a member of Citizens for Halifax”
Make sure she’s sitting on your back TTFN, when you walk into the surf.
ok…
1. who DOESN’T want to get drunk on natal day?!?!?
2. south end houses ARE fucking expensive….
3. you lost me. I’m a citizen and live in halifax … but is there some club I’m not paying into here?
she’s a hoser and needs to be purged.
While she might be out of touch on the Natal Day beer tent issue, I think she’s pretty cool for being involved in local politics for so long, and at her age.
I hope I’m still as involved in real life as she is when I’m that age, even if I am a bit behind the times with the newfangled ways they will undoubtedly have then.
I fear the decline into TV-viewing hell that most people slide into more than almost anything else out there!
Lol zZz… Well said…
The first time I laid eyes on the woman she sat across from Jim Nunn telling us “that’s fine, mmhm” if the crack-heads play shoot-up killing other crack-heads in Dartmouth. I discovered LTWWB around the same time… hmmmm Coincidence?
(‘crack-head’ is included in Chrome’s dictionary now… ugh!)
Speaking of Jim Nunn, there’s an old codger we should set out on an ice floe, never to be heard of again.
As long as we’re ragging on bitches ’cause they look old and worn I vote we redirect our ire to Utek, eh?
hazel is still kickin it as the mayor of mississauga…she’s in her eighties
Right on, Pain!
Young punks….
many of our city’s councillors should have been taken to the glue factory years ago regardless of age. most of them are do nothing say a lots. spend hours on bullshit and when something actually gets done…they spend a few more hours hooting and hollering about it.
i wonder what kind of glue the average city councillor would make. it would most certainly not be superglue. that stuff works. i would say they would fall somewhere between elmer’s white paste and that honey like dollar store shit that our parents gave us in grade one after breaking the bank on elmer’s for grade primary.
i’m a macaroni on construction paper coaster.
yea she’s olderriffic too bad misissauga blows chunks
Well at least it’s not Scarborough, martym.
good point miss kitty cats; i just had a flash back/anxiety attack of liv’n at eglinton and markham road for 5 fuck’n years no wonder i was all messed up:)
lived a spell at rexdale & martingrove; it was a different kind of suck
Scarborough: Sackville with gunz.
thought she did about a hundred years ago,oh well, must be a clown clone of her then.
I’m not sure age is a common factor in erroneous thinking but representatives are supposed to represent their locale. Maybe it’s safe to assume the majority of her Dartmouth public thinks just like her. That would explain a lot… like why bullying-101 is taught in elementary schools and shoot-em-up-cowboy continues to happen in the homes and on the highways of Dartmouth… such a lovely place full of so many “friendly” Haligonian bullies… just… like… her.
Here’s the way I look at it. She’s older than dirt. However, with that age come wisdom and experience.
While I may not agree with some of her ideas and suggestions (No drinking at public events in Halifax? She might as well have asked people to stop breathing) I think she has a lot to offer.
Look at the rest of council, who has near the experience as her? No one. This is a problem. Not just for council, but for society in general. These days, the youngins are trying to push the OAPs (old aged persons) out so they can get ahead.
If we do not prepare, in five to ten years, there is going to be a huge knowlege gap when the baby boomers start to retire. This is already happening where I work, and those close to retirement are so jadded with the new influx of people who feel they already know everything because they have four years of university under their belt. These pre-retirees have a wealth of information to share and are not willing to share it to those who ask (i.e. me).
Anyhow, I digress.
Besides, Gloria is the most entertaining councillor to watch at the meetings.
Man, Kay you have to be a troll.
There is no way that a rational human being could think like that unless….
“Kay, using this doll, show me where he touched you…”
This is not rocket science, Matthew. I look around Dartmouth: I see a bunch of mean people threatening and assaulting each other as a first step to solving ANY problem (it seems). I see them fishing the bodies of murdered gay men out of the park. I see race wars and gang violence in the schools. I see highway shootouts and cops digging bullets out of the wall above the kid’s bed… so Jim Nunn interviews McClusky on CBC questioning her about the violence in this city and her response was to let them kill each other. How hard is it to reach a conclusion like what I’ve posted? At first I was shocked at her disposition being so inconsiderate of these crack head’s neighbors but now I realize these bullies who “run” Dartmouth think just like her. Hey, they voted her in! Makes perfect sense now… save for this bitch.
tbcr… it would definitely be crazy glue.
and hard to argue with me when I have LOGiC on my side…
and Kay, Dartmouth isn’t Halifax… it’s HRM (at least for the time being…)
so they aren’t haliGoons, they’re Dartmouthy little snots.
or how about poisoned Dartmouthians.
Considering she was voted in by acclamation in the last election, might I suggest someone run against her in district 5 next election?
Speaking as someone who lives in her district, I think she’s alright.
What a life you lead, Kay, what a life.
Here’s a federal snapshot of crime in Canada. Halifax is, plus or minus, the same as kay’s hallowed Calgary.
http://www4.hrsdc.gc.ca/.3ndic.1t.4r@-eng.…
The West is more violent than the East, though Halifax is the noted blip in those stats. It’s a mixed bag of tricks like any metropolitan areas, added to which we have a disproportionate number of university students and the boneheaded antics that go with youth, partying, and the first stabs at adulthood.
http://www.macleans.ca/article.jsp?content…
Read beyond the headline before slamming “friendly” Halifax…the first paragraph alone is very telling.
PDG ” might I suggest someone run against her in district 5 next election?”
Can you imagine some of these…people…running for office?
“Speaking as someone who lives in her district, I think she’s alright.”
And you hit the nail on the head. The previous alderman was all about HRM, working together, and teamwork; which to him meant “don’t make waves, and don’t stick up for Dartmouth”.
Wonder why the roads, downtown, and policing were so bad? “Give it to the pennisula was his rallying cry!”
You do know that at one point, that after 2200, there were a whooping two police officers assigned to patrol Dartmouth.
Like her or hate her, her residents are way better off than when they had a figurehead in that office.
where can you go to see the districts all chopped up on a map?
and Luthor… she’s ritzy… upscale… she doesn’t go to dartmouth, that’s what she has ‘people’ for. she only reads the papers which don’t exactly put the place in the best light all the time. I know my parents are dead set against both going to or having me move to dartmouth.
being a little more local than they and visiting there from time to time (pinecrest people… taking a left at the bridge is like falling down the rabbit hole) it’s not as bad so long as you aren’t looking for it. eyes on the road and you’ll get to where you’re going.
PS – I forgot this bit from Stats Canada (the number in brackets represents the per 100,000); you’ll note Halifax is not listed:
Homicides by Major Metropolitan Areas
City population : victims rate
Saskatoon, SK – 250,269:9 (3.60)

zZz who’s Ritzy? Kay?
of course.
she even uses ‘just a drop’ so her shit literally does not stink.
Watch your fucking mouths you haligonian douchebags… lol
From the real dartmouthy
I should clean your dartmouth out with soap.
Hey kay, move out of Jellybean Square.
kay won’t come to Dartmouth cause she knows Gloria can kick her ass every which way but loose.
She’s the oldest old bag I’ve ever had the displeasure of meeting. All she likes to do is create unnecessary work for others and raise an unnecessary ruckus.
“That would explain a lot… like why bullying-101 is taught in elementary schools “
Really!!??!!?? I didn’t know Dartmouth has monopoly on schoolyard bullying!!! When did this happen? The bullies in all the schools nationally must be turning into sweet little angels since Dartmouth bullies have apparently laid claim to the bully crown!
I wonder what kind of degree one needs to hold to be a qualified bullying instructor? Perhaps the LTWWB bully knows something about that…
Hey now, most of us Dartmouthians (is that even the name?) hate Dartmouth and don’t want to be here. I am soon movin’ on up to Halifax 😀 and then hopefully to tropical BC in the farther future. Oh, btw, Kay you got it wrong, you’re supposed to move out West from the East, not the other way around silly :o)! You MUST be a troll. Anytime I read anything you write, it’s absolutely ridiculous. How the hell are you the only person who sees people getting killed and beat up everyday in this small city? If you’re a bitch people will always hate you no matter where you happen to be atm. Has anyone ever figured out why she doesn’t leave here? I’m assuming she left Alberta because no one liked her there either? She seems like she would fit in quite well in Quebec.
I think ABC123 is an angry southend dwelling city worker.
Boo-hoo baby, did your taxes not go down, or did you not get a trip?
Hey melectric, don’t slight Quebec. I lived there for five years (Montreal and the Townships) and it is a great province. Sure there are a few assholes, but there will always be a few no matter where you travel/live.
Dartmouth is not that bad… I grew up here and still call it home. I’m not the most well traveled person in the world but Dartmouth has got its good neighborhoods , its not so good neighborhoods (and yes its downright awful ones too, just like any other city).
I always equate it to the Brooklyn of Halifax – which isn’t a slight with all of the cool coffee shops, restaurants and artists in Brooklyn these days, along with all of the redevelopment along their waterfront (and the Gowanus Canal area)… It’ll come to Dartmouth too, sooner or later.
They named a road after her in Dartmouth. It has a jail and a dump on it. What a tribute.
Itwouldhavefit(inyourass) what’s on the street named after you?
I happen to like Dartmouth and McCluskey. Anytime I contact her about something she gets back to me within a couple days.
I see a bunch of mean people threatening and assaulting each other as a first step to solving ANY problem (it seems). I see them fishing the bodies of murdered gay men out of the park. I see race wars and gang violence in the schools. I see highway shootouts and cops digging bullets out of the wall above the kid’s bed… maybe I should mention I see all this on the evening news but NO all this happens BECAUSE I’m here and I’m a bitch. Yup. Okay. Whatever you want to believe, Haligonia. Just keep doin’ what you’re doin’ *eye roll*
Oh, and don’t worry, my lease is almost up… I’m so outta here… off to help people who deserve and appreciate it. Watch your crime rate drop when I leave. Right. Whatever. Just remember the next time a westerner shows up in your town if you constantly piss them off and treat them like shit saying “if you don’t like us treating you like garbage then leave” then expect them to leave. You’re just not worth the (major) effort nor the risk of being caught by a stray bullet or an irate cunt all hopped up on booze, blow and bullying.
“irate cunt all hopped up on booze, blow and bullying.”
Don’t be so hard on yourself Kay.
Where do you see these things happening, kay? Especially in Dartmouth? Which park? I live right next to one, and the last thing I saw them fish out of the pond was a grocery cart. I really think you’re confusing Halifax with another city, or you just seem to remember every single crime that has happened in Dartmouth from 1990 to present, and forgotten about the ones that happen in Halifax. When you move, just don’t move to most of Toronto, or the Prairies (actually, give Winnipeg a try. Go for a walk down Main Ave around the Native quarter, you’ll find out what bullying is really about) or Vancouver. Good luck in Quebec if you don’t speak a lick of French. Your best bet is out in the woods somewhere. That way society can’t hurt you or bully you in any way, and no one will “tread on you”.
“an irate cunt all hopped up on booze, blow, and bullying.” That’s some funny shit there kay, were you assaulted in Dartmouth or Halifax, by this “person” who wouldn’t be on two feet if he was hopped up on blow and booze?
“I see a bunch of mean people threatening and assaulting each other as a first step to solving ANY problem (it seems). I see them fishing the bodies of murdered gay men out of the park. Far worse and more than this occurs in other Canadian cities as you’ll find out when you leave our lovely shores. Nova Scotia does not have the monopoly on crime no matter how much your crime-coloured-glasses may seem to indicate. Only a fool thinks otherwise. When you go, be sure to leave the nasty attitude and superiority complex behind or you won’t be able to lay the blame on Nova Scotians for how you were treated here. And whatever you do, DON’T go to Newfoundland. We Newfs are bred to be generous to a fault but such generosity is balanced by an equal low bullshit tolerance towards anyone who’s sense of superiority is worn on their sleeve. Oh yes, there is crime (gasp!) in Newfoundland too. Let us know when you find that crime-free Utopia. We are on the edge of our seats waiting to hear all about it!
kay stays here because of a lease? What horseshit!
No, Bro Tim.
She said leash.
“” I am soon movin’ on up to Halifax 😀 and then hopefully to tropical BC in the farther future….””
LOL…got it all planned out, eh?
Just what BC needs, another pie-eyed east-coaster coming out to get a taste of the dream…
….hahaha yeah, you’ll just LOVE Vancouver; it’s a magical place where the streets are paved with urine, many people still speak English and everyone is from somewhere else…
have fun, seeya on my milk carton…
HAHAHAHAHHA Frosty!
heh heh
Thought you might like that one…
This entire thread is rude and crude. From the unwarranted name calling of Councilor Mc Clusky to outrages insults of most of our great Canadian cities.
Aren’t we smug, as we sit by the warmth of a fire, sipping our ice-wine. Let those better than the rest, snivel at people like Gloria Mc Clusky who served her city, not because she had to, but rather because she chose to. How long did she collect disability, after her open heart surgery? Two short weeks, while others sit on their friggen asses and collect EI for a year. Why, because they can. And at half her age. What a bunch of disgusting, self-righteous pricks….I hope, you don’t choke on your lobster topped Ritz.
And why all the belittling of our cities? Aren’t they all Canadian, each with their own special circumstances. Halifax, in the east with it’s huge student population and Vancouver, on the west, with it’s large populace of immigrants. Every one of our metropolitan cities has unique challenges. Who amongst you, helped out this past Christmas at a shelter for the homeless?(I did) None I’m sure… everyone was too busy bitching about them on the net.
I realize this is a bitch column, but I’m always astounded by the lack of pride and patriotism of my fellow Canadians. I see ourselves slowly sliding down that greasy slope that is the States. A country of self servitude and divided ideology. *sigh*
Patriotism is a virus and should be eradicated.
Puss-N-Boots… all that high and mighty talk of self righteousness topped off by a steaming pile of Yakee-bashing… Classy.
Fever: Patriotism is fine. Egotism is bad. Nothing wrong with being proud of your accomplishments. There’s lots wrong with telling others you are better than they are.
“LOL…got it all planned out, eh?

Well it seems it’s you who has me all figured out Frosty.
I have lived in the West before, Alberta and I’ve been to BC many times because my dad has lived there and some other relatives do. I loved it whenever I was there, and my Dad would love to move back there. And what’s with people saying every city is dirty?! Like anyone would think a city is clean?! It’s a fucking city, of course it’s dirty! That’s all I heard before I visited London, UK, “OMG you’ll hate it, it’s sooo dirty!” Well YEAH. ‘Cause Halifax is soo clean. And I like my men Asian. Perfect place then ;D. SEE YOU there.
