  1. Wow you had to replace what you broke; Yep I would have just asked that you pay to fix the damage, and left insurance out of it. – Or would i?I have numerous friends that have gotten screwed and are still trying to track down less than honorable people who had all the right papers; and phone numbers; until they tried to collect. You already inconveninced the person by hitting them and damaging their car, boo hoo they didn’t want to go thru any more hassles.

  2. I wouldn’t have done anything man, it’s a fucking hitch, if you broke it, so be it, we’ll settle it like humans, unlike Jenn suggests, resolve it like cattle do!:) I got rare ended before and i never went through insurance, it was a minor hit! I wouldn’t want to be stuck in a situation say god forbid i lose my brakes and slightly rare end someone, i wouldn’t want insurance to be called! and Jenn, if someone hits you and it’s their falt, your insurance covers jack shit, it’s theirs! so your not paying for your insurance to cover.. sometimes i wonder if there’s even any thought put into these posts!

  3. Funny I was thinking the same thing…you’re damn right I would have called my insurance company…that’s what I pay insurance for and IT’S YOUR FAULT not mine so boo fuking hoo your rates went up…..Be more careful…pay more attention next time, hopefully you learned your $1000 lesson!!

  4. Maybe you should have offered to pay for the hitch up front. A simple gesture of decency would have saved you $5800.

  5. People get fucked over all of the time with insurance even when its a clear case of not being their fault (ie rear ended) so you can be damn sure I will ‘inconvenience’ you.

  6. You can’t take peoples word for shit, I’d go through the insurance company. I don’t give a shit, you hit me, replace whats broken. At least they didn’t fake a neck injury.-Trevor
