An overflow this time due to the rain… When will these people get their act together?
How hard can it be to build and run a properly functioning waste treatment plant, seems other cities can do it with no problem? —Holy Crap, why am I not surprised that the Waste Treatment plant failed again?

Any moron who thinks the harbour will ever be fit to swim in deserves to be mutated into the the hybrid zombie-liver fluke that currently occupies “shitty hall”
It was designed to overflow when it rains a lot. So, by design, it is “properly functioning”.
I’m not sticking up for P. Kelly by any means but the system is designed to overflow…it didn’t “fail again”. Now if folks would accept a 250% municipal tax hike so the city can afford to separate the combined storm/sewer lines that run throughout most of the peninsula we wouldn’t have this happening. And don’t forget all of the construction people like the OP would be bitching about; remember Fenwick St over the past 2 years? Think of the Fenwick St hole but on EVERY street on the peninsula. This overflow design has been stated numerous times before by the city and in the news, why does this still shock people? BTW! The downtown facility (one of FIVE on the harbour) is the only one this happens to so all is NOT lost OP.
they say it was designed to do this, hmmmm, let untreated shit flow back into water, or to go into water. what the fuck is the sense of having something that will not do everything, just part of it.
I think the Mayor should be made to spend the summer inside the pumping station on the corner of Inglis and Barrington.
For all the good they do, turn the entire HRM council into a synchonized swim team. I know exactly where they can practice.

Buy a single hull supertanker, they are being replaced by double hulls, and permanently moor it downtown to take the runoff.

Nice tourist attraction where we can charge visitors for playing Captain or Chief Engineer or Cook. Park it outside the new NS Power offfice and block their view.
