To the manipulative jerk that I can’t seem to rid myself of: I deserve better than your self-centered attitude and bullshit excuses. Where did all the good fellows go? —A girl led astray

  1. Get yourself back on track and leave the guy and go find one of the “good one’s”…there’s lots and lots out there…your just attracted to the wrong one. No one to blame but yourself.

  2. You know what? I hate the fact that there are bad people in this world. I hate the fact that innocent people have to suffer because pretentious, self-absorbed idiots are able to have free will and make stupid choices that hurt others.

Sorry- I know that this is a bit of an over-reaction to this bitch but I have just seen enough evil in the news and in my personal travels over the last little bit to stay quiet. When I think of those beautiful people out there- both adult and child; that are mistreated on an every day basis I become angry. You see them on the bus, in the mall, on the street… unfortunately some of us in our own homes… and of course on the news. So many of them get away with their crap and figure they’re simply untouchable.

While I am partly at peace with the fact that everything comes back around for them, it still doesn’t erase the suffering that those victims go through.

OP- on the back of my tirade (and i am sorry to all….) you should seriously seek help from those around you and get rid of this prick once and for all. Life is only lived once, and you don’t want to look back and wonder why it went by and you were not able to enjoy living it…… There is help out there for those who ask for it… I just wish there was enough…..

  3. Jonno. That comment was a bitch in itself. This girl may be being mistreated, but she’s well aware and doesn’t tell him to f-off and take a hike. So in fact….she’s the reason for her own misery. There’s lots of terrible people in this world but we can only blame them for burning us once…because then we should know better. Unfortunately good people like to think that there’s good in everyone and will take continuous chances on lost causes because we hope that people truly can change.
I forgot where I was going with this….

  4. Wow…. it’s really plain to see that you seem to be in a great relationship. Well not all people are. And for those that aren’t, the relationship is not ALL bad, nor has it ALWAYS been bad. Whose to say that OP hasn’t developed deep feelings for said manipulative jerk and is finding it hard to actually take the step to get away from him? It’s not always smooth sailing once you leave the dock. Especially when you are mistreated and beaten down to believe that you are only good enough for the person you’re with. I am not saying that OP believes this….. my point is simply that it takes more than just words to end a relationship.

  5. “Life is only lived once, and you don’t want to look back and wonder why it went by and you were not able to enjoy living it……”

    WAY easier said than done.

  6. OP said that she can’t seem to get rid of the guy, so maybe she has told him to fuck off and leave her alone? A couple of years ago a good friend of mine had to get a restraining against a psychotic ex-bf, so maybe that’s the next step for the OP? It’s kind of hard to tell given the scant details of this bitch.

  7. I’ve been in several terrible relationships with people who mistreated me and I stuck around, time and time again because I had no self worth…when someone calls you names enough times you start believing them. It took me a very very very long time to realize I deserve better. I’m still working hard on realizing this. That’s why all my resolutions are mental not physical this year.
In relationships no one’s perfect…but you weigh out the good and the bad and what you can and can’t tolerate and this person sounds like the bad outweighs the good but they’re still sticking around. They need to realize they deserve better. There’s is a silver lining…there is a great guy out there who is going to treat her better….she just needs to trust herself and walk away.

  8. all the good fellows are there,in the corner…
    chatting on their blue-tooth headsets…
playing black ops and generally either being ignored or frowned upon.

  9. We’re still out here !
Most of us are gun shy from all the psychotic, head game playing, cheating money grubbing whore’s we thought actually cared ….when it was always about ‘what you could get outta him’
    before moving on.
Where you say you can’t ‘rid yourself of him’ , I hear she’s hanging on for a couple of dollars more !

  10. Like my oldest buddy used to say: ‘Jag it in and cut your losses.’ You’ll find a good fella if you stop looking for one.

  11. I waited till I was 36 to find the right one to wed. Tenth year anniversary this year and no regrets. Take your time OB

  12. A friend of mine says “Men are like parking spaces. The good ones are taken and the rest are handicapped.” While I don’t 100% agree, you can drive around for a long time before you find a really good one.

  13. Women are like a hurricane, at first warm, wet, and wild and in the end they take your house and your car and leave you with nothing.

  14. OB, have you told this guy, goodby? If not, bitching here won’t help, unless it’s practice.

If yes, and he’s harassing/threatening you, call the cops and womens services.
It can go from verbal to physical in a blink of an eye, the sooner he’s gone, the better.

hollah – I don’t know about your friend (referenc is somewhat applicable & humourous), it used to be that a heartbeat was good enough for me, as I’ve gotten older a few “musts” have been added, un-married for example.
My problem is, that all the 50ish rocker-brainiac-biker chicks who like dogs, are taken 🙁

  15. How is a blonde like a tornado? At first there’s a lot of sucking and blowing, and then you lose your house.

  16. Bahaha For the record, I have nothing against blondes, and Willie Nelson came up with the joke.

  17. love the avatar hugo…oceansis likes men just not in THAT way…i think she is close to my age dearest hugo

  18. You might just have to ‘settle’ for a younger woman (40ish).
I think you are the first guy I had to give THAT advise to = )

  19. 40’s the new 30 and 30’s the new 20 Hugo. Keep looking in the 50’s. I think you’ll find a more mature person who is solid in who they are and not looking for someone to complete them or take care of them.

I don’t mind blond jokes as long as they’re not directed at me…just like fat jokes…lol.

  20. WAIT…. I swore I’d never want to be a teenager again…
RC, you’re bending my reality here.

I just hope I don’t get all hormonal and experiment with alcohol…

  21. OP, you and I belong to the same boat. Same issue just opposite sex.
I feel your pain. I don’t know why we keep giving them chances tho!
