After seeing a specialist at the QEII yesterday, I was appalled by the droves of students from Citadel Hill descending upon the Summer Savoury cafeteria just before noon. The cocky little bastards even have their own cashier as was pointed out to me by one surly punk. What the fuck is wrong with their school cafeteria and why should the rest of us have to suffer those little snots? And why is the QEII allowing this invasion as to make the public who are there for medical reasons suffer from the swearing, noise and general rudeness of these brats? I only hope that all those orders of poutine clogs their collective young arteries.

For some reason, the citadel high cafeteria was not made big enough/efficient enough to serve all the students at the school. I guess they figured a lot of the students would be going home for lunch or something. I know people who attend citadel high and have heard stories of wait lines of 45 minutes just to get a sandwich. The kids don’t have time to stand in line that long, their lunch hour is only an hour.
45 minute wait for a friggin’ sandwich?? That’s ridiculous for a new school or anywhere for that matter.
I understood that they were all going to the QEII cafeteria because it still serves french fries and other teenage faves, while the school cafeteria is following the provincial nanny policy of only “healthy” food and is getting zero business as a result.
I go to Citadel High- There is not enough seating for everybody. The food is not very good. The hospital sells good food at a decent price. I mean come on! Whole wheat pizza and burgers. No frys the vending machines actually have Quaker oat meal packets in them. Like who carries a bowl around with them. We don’t have pop or even anything carbonated. And to make matters worse 1400 kids have lunch hour all at the same time dumb dumb dumb. and the damn teachers and staff will only let us eat in the Cafeteria. I hate this stupid fucking school. Its always cold because we are not allowed to turn up the damn heat so we sit in our coats in some of the classes. This school is no environmentally friendly building its a economically friendly building. lets see if it it falls apart in 10 years.
That behemoth of a school was a bad idea on so many levels. When will our society get over the idea that bigger is better? Once upon a time, every teacher in a school knew the name of every single student in that school. Every student knew every other student, at least by name. How could that possibly be a bad thing?
Quaker fucking Oats???? Jesus, no wonder those poor kids are going elsewhere. I would too.
Seems like the real issue is why is the brand spanking new $30 million school experiencing overcrowding? It’s been open for 3 months and it’s already bursting at the seems. Brutal planning and design by the sound of it.
I think it was built cheap and its a big school. Its so overly safe and theres no where you can sit to be in privacy it gets annoying.
Sounds to me like the answer is for the hospital to become a more healthy place and fix its menu. They are only creating future bowel cancer clients with all that fat. Of course, what has heath got to do with a hospital?
No school in NS has seating for the entire population in its cafeteria. Classes and lunch breaks are supposed to be scheduled so that there is room for those not in class. Some schools do just fine with 1/3 capacity. Of course those are not filled with spoiled brat city kids who have off campus options, cars and credit cards.It does sound like they should just turn up the heat a bit – that school is heated as part of the shared steam plant for the hospital, and has modern insulation, so the cost of being warm is not as much as other places.
well when our school learns how to make healthy food that doesn’t taste nasty. I never had a problem at the old school we had good food that was cheaper and we always had enough room. Probally because we could eat where ever we wanted. In fact they closed the second room for eating because nobody used it. Shoulda just kept two different schools but I suppose thats not as efficient as stuffing us in a big building like sardines in a sardine can
