dear workers on the corner of south and south park, GO FUCK YOURSELF! this bitch is not for complaining about the amount of noise you make, the lack of work you do, or how much you sit outside my front window bitching about your relentless bullshit on your coffee break.
theres a hose coming through my bedroom window thats allowing me to have showers right now.. thats cool. Im all for removing it considering I have to keep my window unlocked and open at all times even during the night when theres a fucking creeper creeping around breaking into girls bedroom windows.
thanks for letting me know that you were coming to remove it today. thanks for waking me up at 730am by FUCKING BASHING ON MY BEDROOM WINDOW REPEATEDLY! yeah, i guess that would be the most appropriate and professional thing to do.
you couldnt leave a fucking note on my door the day before saying “oh hey, maybe, if our lazy asses get to it tomorrow, we will have to come into your apartment and remove the hose” a little warning that our water was being shut up off in the morning would have been nice too.
—guess im going to school greasy today

It’s not the workers’ responsability to notify tennants of hookup/disconnection of temporary water lines, your landlord is the one you should be bitching at since he/she would have received a letter from the contractor and gave permission for the workers to rig up the hose. Your landlord likely said go ahead and see apt. # so and so to hook up the water and probably forgot to tell you about this arrangement.
Fuck that voice_of_reason, it’s the general contractor’s responsibility to notify residents of any disruption to services they cause. This requires going door to door (at least the day before) and personally letting people know, or leaving a note. This is on the HRM website, and in the terms of the contract, I guarantee. There is no way in hell they looked up the landlord’s mailing address and sent him/her a letter.
As infuriating as that sounds, I really wouldn’t blame the labourers – they were clearly just doing what they were told. The blame lies with the HRM and their always-go-to-because-we’re-in-bed-with-one-another contractor – Dexter. That whole construction scene down there is a bad fucking joke that won’t go away.
According to the public notice, they should have been finished that section three weeks ago. Then again, considering the whole project is well over a year behind schedule, what’s three weeks? Those jokers at Dexter should be getting their assess torched with late penalties that might entice them to speed their shit up, but since 80-90% of heavy construction in the HRM (if not the province) is awarded to them I don’t think they’re too concerned.
When I lived in North End Dartmouth a couple of years back, and Dexter was turning a park into a sewage pumping station behind my building, it was Dexter who posted notices on our front door of water shut-offs, usually around a week in advance. Not sure who was supposed to post it, but it got posted. Legit bitch as I would be pissed too if I had no water with no notice when I could of had notice.
This bitch does have its good side though. If they’re removing the temp. hose, it means they’re almost finished that section.
I’m no huge fan of the NDP either, but the guy’s only been premier for about four months and you people are already blaming him for everything! Why should Dexter be responsible for informing people of water shut-offs and what not? Don’t you think he should be focussing more on running the province instead?
Please note the (bad attempt at) humour.
Perhaps the notice was posted on the apartment building door and was torn off by another resident or someone else. Does that then give the OB the right to bitch at the labourers? Not at all. I still think the problem is that the landlord probably knew all about what was to occur and failed to advise the apartment dwellers.
Why not record yourself saying, “GET BACK TO WORK!” and play it repeatedly through loud speakers in your window?
Its not like they can double the fine for playing dialogue/music in the window in the daytime.
