ok, so i understand when the metro free newspaper came to be, they were wanting to promote it, whatever. that was a while ago, no? why are they still out there?? i really dont like being bombarded every morning on my way to work if i want one of these. i am not by any means rude to those ppl wearing the green vests, i always politely say “no thank you” and carry on. i know they are just doing their job, so this bitch is not to them by any means. but is anyone else bothered by this?? if i want one, i think by now i know where to get one. also, ppl litter these everywhere, stop printing so many and creating more waste!!

…I feel the same way. I was really disappointed to see one morning when exciting the ferry terminal a huge blue recycling bin overflowing with newspaper, most prominent : Metro. Dude, I’m feelin yah for sure.
Metro is put out by the same people that deliver those blue bags of flyers another poster was asking about last week. That company is responsible for a great deal of litter in the community.
The handing-out company probbably has managed to convince them that readership is going up because of these guys, so they’re keeping them a while longer. Or they forgot to send the memo to have them stop. Maybe due to a lack of paper…?
I had gotten to the point one day where I was asked, and declined the Metro from the same person every day in the same spot, and was ready to tell her to stop asking. But luckily that day before I freaked out, she just started saying Hi to me instead of offering me the paper. I was relieved. A lot of the time I see her with her supervisor, who randomly comes by to make sure things are going well, so if they aren’t offering you a paper, they probably get shit on.And if I ever feel the need to read one, theres always an extra lying around somewhere, so I never take one.
