Is anyone else really upset about the price of bread/flower which has shot through the roof as of late? They tell us that it has to do with increased demand by developing countries and that farmers are growing less wheat in order to grow more corn to make bio-fuels. Now can anyone tell me what is wrong with this picture?

Wow – I knew the price of wheat was going up, but I didn’t know flowers were going to cost more too!
*grown*
As I understand it, global climate change is the main cause of the wheat shortage. All major wheat producing countries have been experiencing drought for several years. One could speculate that some of the shift to other crops -such as biofuel crops- might have something to do with farmers losing their shirts trying to grow wheat in an unfavourable climate. I am not aware that wheat export to developing countries has actually increased. I do know that US bakers are lobbying for restrictions of wheat export in response to the shortage.
Dear sweet Kate, I think they meant “flower” as in the baking and not the blooming kind…:)
I won’t be so nice about it: Yeah, Kate, fuck off.
Has anyone noticed that it’s like yesterday never happened? Very strange.
Has anyone noticed that it’s like yesterday never happened? Very strange.Yep. Our hosting service, down in the states, crashed. Took them a while to get the site back up.
Whew, and I though it was me!! 😉
you got nothing but George Bush to thank for that and his war loving hobby of invading countries
Tim just a question and I’m sorry if this is not the right place but why is The Coast website being hosted by a US company? Surely there must be a CDN web host service available and dare I even suggest a local web host service? Not a bitch just a question.
As I understand it, the fellow who created the web site moved to the states. It’s not just being hosted, he also does a lot of work on the site.
what’s wrong with this picture is that something is missing & that something is hempEAT CORN > BURN HEMP
