To the asshole that walks Spring Garden Rd. ripping flyers off the the telephone polls;I have witnessed you doing this on at least 10 seperate occasions and when i confronted you about about it you told me off , treatened me and then condoned your actions saying that you live in the area and the posters and flyers make this place look like a ghetto…WHAT??? Have you ever been to a “real ghetto”??? You should be happy you live in a city with a strong enough artistic community to produce reasons to put those many flyers and maybe keep this place a little safer giving youth reasons NOT to out on the street.Buisineses need support , venues need support , musicians need money , and noone plans events and expo’s for noone to show up!!!!Have a reality check and realize there are FAR worse things in the world than plugging a show!!!asshole!!!

I thought you were not allowed to post flyers on utility poles anymore anyway. This guy is just doing his civic duty by making sure his pole’s exposed.
I’ll go out on a limb here and say that 90% of the flyers put up are never taken down ; at least not by those who “need the support and money” They look like crap after, and of course all the staples are just a joy; nothing like a rusty staple cut.Maybe the OP should take a little pride in the area, like the guy he’s bitching about and ensure the flyers are cleaned up AFTER the event is over.
I agree, Elvis. This garbage stays up forever, and it is illegal, as Miles pointed out.What I can’t figure out is why the police don’t go to the people who post these flyers and fine them, plus require them to go around and take them all down. Most, if not all, of this garbage has a name, phone number, or other means of contacting the group responsible for them.
Maybe all those staples in the penis pole in front of the library is making an S & M statement or something.
That’s the thing, OP: there are designated places to put up stuff like this. You can’t expect to staple posters up wherever you like, and then get pissed when someone who cares what his neighbourhood looks like takes them back down. This goes for you people who put up signs advertising your yard sale, and leave them there for weeks. At least put a date on them, so the rest of us can tell when we’re looking at a sign that’s a month old. Better yet, take the damn signs down.

It is illegal to put flyers up on poles. They don’t belong there and they do look like shit. There is a place specifically for them. Now, if they were where they belong and someone was ripping them down that would be a different story. But they are not so shut the fuck up, douche-bag.
