  1. “Affluenza” -I damn near burst blood vessels in my head that I didn’t even know I had watching that fucking story.

Oh Comandante Esposito, wherever you are. You may be looking at a new convert. >; )

  2. Perhaps a flu shot would’ve helped? You’re probably one of those stunned cunts who thinks snow tires are for other folks also?
Affluenza – I watched the psychobabble witness try to defend the term, what a mutt, I blame the judge also, she should’ve had him arrested for being a knob.

  3. Don’t flu shots lead to autism?
I know in my case they cause Tourette’s.

  4. Here’s a fact. Frequent hand-washing is a better preventative than the flu shot, which only immunizes against a select few bugs. Hand washing eliminates all bugs from being transfered to your cranial orifices. Haven’t had a flu shot or the flu or a cold in years since I started being conscious of the benefits of clean hands. I know others who use this method with the same results. Being sick sucks, OP. Get better soon. Hope you don’t go out spreading that shit around.

  5. The problem, Oceanchick, is those who have suppressed immunity need a lot more than hand washing to get through potentially fatal flu season.

I have a suppressed immune system. I also have OCD and, although treated, wash my hands like a motherfucker. There is no one on this plant that washes their hands more than me in the run of a day and if I don’t get a flu shot I get the flu two to three times a season.

Thing is, vaccines aren’t just about protecting YOU, they’re about protecting others in what’s called herd immunity. Some people can’t get the flu shot. And for some of those people, getting the flu can be fatal. Herd immunity is also why those living with people with suppressed immune systems have always gotten the shot for free (before it was offered to everyone for free).

When you don’t get a shot, no matter HOW many times you wash your hands, you’re still putting others at risk — others that are potentially more vulnerable than you. Remember: you can still spread the virus before you ever have symptoms.

So please get a fucking flu shot. It’s selfish not to.

  6. And it only takes a few minutes to get one. And it’s free.

And those of you all “WAHWAH I’M AFRAAAID OF NEEDLES”: stop being pussies, you fucking pussies.

  7. oceanchick you’re right. I am the only one i know (including my fiance who i am especially intimate with, sick or well) that has not had an inkling of the flu.

And i just got back from China, bird-flu capital of the solar system.

I have a good immune system. But I am also a pretty chronic hand-washer. I combine this with actually exposing myself to the flu. This gets my system geared up to fight it while keeping it away from my pores. I have never had a flu shot. Nor would i ever. Why fix a working system?

I don’t think my luck will hold out once our children come along though. I think that’ll be the end of the good times.
