The hallway roof has been leaking for at least 3 of the 4 years I have lived here. Your solution has always been to just put a bucket under it. I’ve called you every time the hallway leaks, even though it’s outside of my apartment not in it, for three years. This means almost every time it rains you get a phone call. Now last night it starts raining in the apartment, from the roof and the water runs all the way down to the first floor (so three floors). Are you now going to fix the leak? That is three apartments damaged by your lack of maintenance. —Time to move

HA. Can you imagine how much rotting wood is hovering around your building? And the potential mold? Get out while you can, OP!
Take him to Residential Tenancy.
Is this with certain company that owns a lot of building and makes you want to “kill him” by any chance?
At least if your building is not being repaired you have a just reason why you will not accept the yearly increases in rent.
I’ll just stop there, or I might go into a long rant about that.
yeah , the actual leak that you can see is usually the least amount of the damage. It’s what you don’t see behind the walls that you have to worry about.
time to move you say, how come after 3-4 years, you are still there anyway? can’t find nothing else to bitch about? how about your stupidity for staying there that fucking long?
Kirbul said it.
Time to move. Check out MLS.
Either move or see the good folks at the Tenancy Board. I do believe that you are allowed to withhold rent under certain conditions.
hmmm… inconspicuous house… no-one snooping, complaining, repairing… or cares about mold or infestation….
grow op to offset the costs?
but that’s ILLEGAL
naveed, only if he/she went to said board and lodged a complaint in the 3 plus years previous to this bitch. which i guess this person didn’t, so sue the casino he can. might as well, it is probly their fault that made him/her, gamble on their health and safety, not to mention sanity, but i think o.p., has already lost that part of the fight.
Health department – but first a report from a mold remediater like KB Clark or Servicemaster indentifying mold ( which will be there – trust me) – comes in two weeks . And that roof been leaking three years ? Ya think . With that report then call health board then tenancy board – . That report must be in hand ( they will come and check and identify mold for nothing ). Then you have ammo for your gun – especially for taking him to court for negligence and the fact mold is toxic to your health . Do your research on it.
