I’m delighted we have a Jazz Fest but did someone decide to reorient the speakers this year or just crank up the volume? I live in the Dartmouth Cove area and the evening performances sounded like they were in my back yard. This was never a problem in past years. What gives? —Sleepy all week

We have a Jazz Fest. I think that may be the source of your troubles…
You don’t like ten different instruments all playing different tunes at the same time?
I heard they called it a jazz festival but not much jazz was heard.
When they crank up the volume, crank up your wine or beer intake.
well now that the dartmouth cove et al residents petitioned to have the train whistle stopped and build that heinous fence maybe that’s why you are hearing it lol
Just listen to the notes they’re not playing, man.
I went to the venue and had to leave because it was deafening. The speakers could have been used for a concert on the commons.
That gloomy racket could be clear across the harbour in Dartmouth beyond the cove. It woke me from my slumber and I exclaimed “Judas Priest! Is Peter Kelley back?!?”. It nearly gave me a heartattack….
Oh my! It sucks to be you.
If you lose sleep over a loud speaker from far away, then getting a good night’s sleep must be damned near impossible for you…
…what with sounds like sirens, the neighbor’s dog, a car door slamming, thunder…
…you must get a good night’s sleep once every 10 years.
