After a trip to the mall, I came to one conclusion. Women pay far too much money for inferior clothing made in 3rd world countries. Not only is the material garbage but the styles and designs only reflect the misogynist designers who vomit out such unflattering apparel. Footwear is equal horrific, poorly made and overpriced. Don’t even get me started on that certain local ‘brand’ that’s made in Honduras. It saddens me that so many girls and women get ripped off on inferior shit that looks like someone yakked on it. —Shop Second Hand & Save a Bundle

Sorry, but have you been living under a rock for the last few decades?

Spryfield could do a better job.
Alas, I think you’ll find, OP, that most of the selection available at one’s local Sally Ann or Guy’s Frenchy’s is pretty much the same stuff, maybe a year or two out of date, as you’ll find at any “fast fashion” outlet. Even the so-called “quality” apparel retailers have caved to the siren-call of lower manufacturing costs. All you can really do is buy or make the best quality you can afford, wherever you may find it, and take good care of it. If you can get five years’ wear out of something these days, you’re either really lucky or really fastidious with your clothes.
I have a lot of shoes with some costing upwards of $500 but these are over 12 years old and look the same as the day of purchase and are as comfortable as hell. Some people get sticker shock at the price but these same people would spend $1800+ on shoes over the same period. Mine will last a lifetime while theirs are replaced annually or seasonally.
Be kind with your money 🙂
Isn’t there the same garbage in second hand stores but they’ve been on people already?
Yeah. That (ahem) “local” brand. If they cared so much about the quality of life here they’d support Nova Scotia’s economy instead of another country’s by employing locals to make their wares, you know, like that place that’s been successfully operating in Truro for 145 years.
$80 for a t-shirt that everyone has and is shit quality? No thanks. I agree with Oceanchick, make those shirts and hoodies in NS and then charge outrageous prices.
Fuck East Coast Lifestyle and that little shit who got his daddy’s hockey connections to hauk his lame design.
“With my SLIGHTLY different East Coast Lifestyle hoodie, I will be the coolest person on this bus! See? There is a little camo in it so, it’s differenter than urs.”

And mens clothes are made by teamsters on 79,000 a year salaries in suburban Toronto? LOL Bitch dismissed (person and thing).
As if men’s clothing is any better these days Mostly made offshore and hit and miss as to quality.
Curse those misogynist sandals…
Not only are mens clothes not any better…
there’s far fewer places to get em.
You may have shit clothes, but you definitely have more variety of shit.
(and don’t even get me started on ECL… ug)

I think that goes for just about anything made in 3rd world countries……. mens clothing included.
The quality of the clothes in stores gets worse every year.
This summer, I have just started learning how to sew–eventually, I want to be able to make my own clothes in the colours and fabrics I like, and know that things are not going to fall apart after washing.
I recommend this to everyone–especially those of us who were not so “home-economically inclined” when we were younger. It really is fun, and it is very satisfying to make something nice that is way better than anything you can find in a store.
well if the crap the sell as cloths & shoes bothers you to a rage O P, comparing male to female haircuts is going to put your through the stratosphere.
