Am I the only one that gets ticker off by that place with the “golden archers”? I worked at a fast food place in my younger years, and although it’s not quite as easy as some people think, it’s not rocket science either. Even when they “ring it in” correctly, the kitchen just makes the food any way they want. Only pickles instead of no pickle (come on…that should be a gimme!) If it wasn’t for the kids, I’d never ever go back there. The kids “Happy meal” is often wrong and when you call to complain, they offer to replace the burger, which of course means you have to drive back and my “food” gets cold. I know minimum wage isn’t much to live on, but honestly, a lot of them (not all!!) don’t deserve that. They laugh and joke around, which would be fine if it didn’t compromise the work they *should* be doing. Come on management, take complains seriously, or you will loose business despite your apparent popularity.

Don’t go there. The sooner we drive out all the disgusting McDonald’s in Halifax, the better.
and if i may add, we all need to slow down (a lot), this rat race is killing us. we’re more concerned with the almighty economy than we are with our health & quality of life. take the time to eat better & enjoy quality food, instead of just stuffing our faces with cheap/empty calories, and start caring about where your food actually comes from.food choices should be LOCAL & fresh whenever possible (or product of Canada at the very least, and demand it from grocers too), and for optimum health, of yourself and the planet, fastfood should be avoided altogether, which is easier said than done, but at least make the effort.we are what we eat… put crap in your body, you’re gonna feel like shit (eventually)
and if you don’t know how to COOK… learn! taking the time to prepare quality meals is the best way to keep yourself well fed and healthy.
When I was going to SMU, I would wander up to SG Road on my long breaks between classes. It always amazed me the amount of people lined up in Rotten Ronnies, when there was a Subway right next door. MUCH better for you, and no line ups! Long live the veggie sub!!Mind you…I almost always got the cookies too…bwuahahaha…
Not everyone has the time to prepare quality meals, not to mention the money. Eating healthy is for the wealthy these days. I agree that McD’s is crap along with most fast food but suggesting someone “take the time” to learn to cook is unrealistic, just take a look at the poor bitch who can’t get her earned vaction time! Maybe we need another solution…..
Ronnies better than the Sub shop, not that much if at all. The fact that some of those subs have veggies, perhaps. But the processed meat in those subs has been linked to cancer by several studies. Either way both places are not fit for human consumption.
Well Beedge did specify a Veggie sub, which I would think is lacking processed meats.McD’s isn’t even that cheap anymore, unless you are buying an item or two from the value menu. A meal costs about the same amount as what you can spend at other restaurants. McD’s will always have a place an is not going anywhere. They have always messed up orders and is not going to change. Take the time to find a good, economical, local place (they do exist) or suck it in.
I DID say veggie sub, thank you for noticing Bad Guy…processed meats are the debbil, esp. nowadays. I prefer fresh veggies to the pig lips and arseholes found in the processed meats, thanks. Besides…6 inch veggie sub and a juice is cheaper than a combo at McD’s…I think….haven’t been in a McD’s in a long time…I also disagree about the statement that Subway is just as bad at McD’s. As long as you don’t pick the meat subs with tons of cheese and mayo…Subway would definitely be the better choice, hands down. Unless, of course, you prefer the fat, grease, and sky high sodium at McD’s. *shudders*
I’ve called to complain several times over the years to the McD’s in Bedford and yes, they offered to replace whatever it was. But I always told them that I was too far away or simply was not coming back right then and they recorded my contact info in a book so that the next time i was there, they could look it up and give me my replacement meal. now, my question is… how often do the fuck up that they require a log book to keep track! Also, if the burger was messed up, my ex would go back and tell them that they fucked up the burger but that he also wanted replacement fries because his were now cold and drink because his was now watered down. then we got a whole extra meal out of it!
