This is not a “Facebook Bitch” so all you whose fingers are itchin to pound out “Delete your Facebook account asshole” can go fuck yourselves.

Facebook is becoming overrun with graphic images masquerading as some “awareness” campaign. “This puppy was stabbed in the face repost to take a stand against animal cruelty!!!” “repost to raise awareness for breast cancer!” “read this detailed story about a woman who was raped and repost if you’re against abusing women” “look at this bashed up baby and repost or you’re a child abuser!!!” Fuck the fuck off. Everyone knows this shit is happening. I’m sure everyone on Facebook has lost someone to breast cancer you don’t need to raise awareness you need to raise funds to find a cure. Lots of people donate time and money to these organizations to help the less fortunate and don’t feel the need to look for a circle jerk or pat on the back from their imaginary computer friends. They do it because they actually care. And don’t tell me “you can’t hide from reality man” REALITY is that posting gory pics doesn’t help anyone you are just being an attention seeking asshole. “Oooh look at me look at me I care even though I don’t!” Fuck off. —Stop Phoning (or Facebooking) It In!

  1. As so many have ponted out – this “social media” is rapidly supplanting most other forms of news media, in many ways by imitating it and going even farther in appealling to the prurient, the voyeuristic and the grotesque. I’d like to give you some better advice OP, but right now, at least, all you can do is ignore it.

  2. I was complaining about this on Facebook this week. There was a horrifying photo of an “abused puppy” that dipshits were reposting. I unfriend for this now because it’s so frustrating.
Given the medium(Facebook) there is always going to be crap. Try and ignore it and move on is all the advice I have, and block those who post that shit.

    Valid complaint though.

  3. And this is precisely why, (at least partly), I am no longer a member of Clan Zuckerberg. I deleted my account a couple of years ago and I don’t miss it one iota. In fact, I would even go so far as to ask myself what the hell made me join in the first place? Aside from keeping in contact with some extended family, (with whom I have found alternate and just as effective methods of communicating), for me, the whole thing is a complete waste of time.
So long as these “philanthropy” page creators aren’t breaking any of Facebook’s code of conduct/rules, then there is really bugger all you can do about it…..aside from maybe deleting any of your ‘friends’ who repost this shit on your wall.
And well, of course, you could always, ya know, do that first thing you mentioned.

  4. Slacktivism at it’s finest. If you want to raise awareness to your charity of choice, put your money where your mouth is. Volunteer with the SPCA or another animal rescue charity, donate money or do the Run for the Cure for breast cancer, become a Big Brother/Sister or another children’s charity. I’m sorry, all of these ridiculous “copy and paste” statuses are a waste of time and do nothing than make someone feel better about themselves.

  5. ACtually, i posted the same linik, and for every like, facebook donated a dollar, and the dog was SAVED.
I SAW IT YESTERSAY AND IS GOOD AS GOLD.

  6. You must be bullshitting, BPicker. That’s a scam, and only bona fide idiots and gullible dipshits would believe it.

  7. The same people email their entire contact list a “warning” about virus/malfunction/health/news/etc. without verifying if the post is actually TRUE! ~ Ya get one chance at this shit with me and your email addy is blocked ….. FB “friends” are limited feed so I do not get their drivel …. and should I have already whacked-off and in need of something to do to pass the time …. I will visit their FB pages ….. unless I have the urge to whack-off again …. so, in reality I rarely visit other peeps FB sites.

  8. nOPE. Not bullshitting. what that dog put up with was bullshit. but hes okay. Name’s Betty Sue. It is a baby rottie

  9. Booger…. they don’t really donate a dollar for every like. it’s just something someone made to get attention.

  10. I had a FB account once, an old one, then deleted it because of stuff like this. I’ve recently reactivated it, but only so that I could use it as a self created news feed. Instead of a bunch of copy & paste articles to save this or that, I’ve brought it upon myself to share interesting articles with my friends in an attempt to raise the quality of social media. I post science articles, news stories from other countries, information on new technologies and medicines, and even some funny shit. So instead of me keeping the world up to date with every little thing that goes on in my life, I try to keep the my friends aware of the world in general.

  11. I listened to Wendy Mesley she is on C B. C. News and she had breast cancer ,and she went to a medical conference they were having in France and she asked some of the big drug companies if there was a cure in the future ,there answer was “we are not looking for a cure,we just provide the medications to help you get through it,there is no money in cures”. Then I think of all the monies collected for this cancer research, like run for a cure and the rest of them, what is it for? I’m also fucking sick and tired of these Mental Illness Awareness weeks and big corporations like Bell Aliant starting million dollar campaigns “to support mental health” just to boost their own bottom line. For every minute you talk, we’ll donate 5 cents to mental health hospitals & programs”. Where is this money going really? Directly into their fascist torture chamber (mental hospitals) and promoting their toxic poisonous drugs. Ultimately it’s all about padding pockets not health. Someone should start a psychiatric genocide awareness week FFS!

  12. If there is certan ones who post these then set it up so you can’t see what they post. The beauty of some changes FB has made is you can be picky about who’s posts you see.

  13. It’s Slacktivism at it’s finest. People re-posting or posting stuff to “raise awareness”, and think they are doing world of good, really doing nothing but annoying their facebook “friends”.

  14. When the face crack first came out I was encouraged by friends to join…I lasted about a week & tried to quit.
I still get emails from those fuckers telling me so & so is trying to contact me.
Can you actually deactivate an account & make it go away ?
Or do they hang onto your info like a person who has fallen through the ice & all they got a hold of is a slippery little patch of wet ice ?!?

  15. No, More. You can actually deactivate your account. They keep your profile info, posts, friends list, etc, on file for 2 weeks in case you change your mind. After that, by law, all the contents of your profile are zeroized and your account deleted. So long as you don’t log in within that 2 week window, you’re good to go. (At least, that’s the way it was when I did it a couple of years ago. It may have changed again, IDK)

  16. i can’t believe that i’m going to say this, but here it is. facebook in itself, is ideal for the masses today. that want to communicate with a bunch of people at once. but that’s where it ends. now it seems that it is being used for advertising just about every fucking thing under the sun, and also as a stepping stone for a molester group.
and then there are those that have to update every 5 fucking seconds of their miserable little lives. and let’s not forget the ones that are actually, continully posting these other stupid updates and status reports. how the hell should i give a fuck about what this person is doing, doing it where, and also why. give it the fuck up. use facebook as a tool, that it was origionally designed for. communicating your presence at an event, gathering, or jus to say hi.
never mind all that other mindless shit that gets put up there. mark fuckerburg, must be laughing his ass off now.

  17. I enjoy Facebook. I use to keep up with my relatives and to play games such as “Word with Friends”. I have reconnected with some old friends and joined groups with the same odd interests I have. I ignore stuff that doesn’t interest me. For the life of me, I don’t know what the big problem is.
