You know who you are. You make annoying vertical lines alongside paragraphs you want to block-quote in your essays, scribble what you believe to be the “theme” of a chapter in the margins, and underline every third fucking sentence–even if it’s already in italics? I wish someone would pee on everything you own.

I don’t mind it when people write in library books if it’s in a soft pencil and they erase it afterwards.
People who don’t erase it or write in pen need a bitch slappin’.
haHaHAHHAHA
Thanks for the laughs.
I must admit that I’m slightly neurotic when it comes to writing in books. they were made as is for a reason.
Do you see a margin and lines for you to write on?
NO, then fucking DON’T.
grab some loose-leaf or a scribbler or something and leave the poor book alone. It would surely sell for more if not tainted anyways, should you choose to garage-sale them.
Will someone please think of the books people!
Im a book nerd – and I find it a pleasant suprise when thee is writing in books – so long as its fiction. Pen is sketchy cause it indents on the other pages, and thats just plain annoying, but comments, underlines, stars, I cherish them (in pencil).
It makes me re evaluate what I just read, and gives the book dimensions – makes it more personable.
Especially love it in used books. Library books are a little bit of a debate, they dont belong to you so it comes down to the whole respect thing. But overall, I say keep doing it! I love it.
