I wonder why not many people give to panhandlers! I walked down the road where this same homeless guy hangs out, begging, this evening. He’s always in the same spot, and I’ve walked past him a few times without giving him anything because I had no change. However, this time I had my purse and was getting out some change to give him. BUT… as I get closer to him, I hear him calling random people in his viscinity cheap skanks under his breath because they didn’t give him anything! Then as I’m right in front of him he says out loud “Everyone in Halifax is a cheap skank!” Well, I shut my purse and walked off. With that attitude, you won’t be getting shit from me, buddy!

I don’t get it either. He’s the fucking cheap skank. We’re all doing our jobs and working for our money while he sits on his fucking ass all day. I know of a guy who panhandles near a certain chip joint in the summer on the waterfront. Got this info from a reliable source. The dude clears $ 300 a day. Give me a break with all that cheap skank bullshit.
I thought panhandlers were banned. Get them the help they need, put them in jail; whatever just get them off the fucking street/sidewalk.

My understanding of the Panhandling law was that Pandhandlers are no longer permitted to annoy people with things like window-washing and such. People simply asking for money are still legal. I could be wrong, so don’t quote me, but that’s what I’ve heard.
