My Hub-Unit had a terrible fall last night and was rushed to emergency. I couldn’t believe the professionalism and the gentle, caring manner in which they helped him. They wouldn’t release him until he could use his walker, telling him that they could admit him if he chose to do so. I’m sending warm little hearties to those tireless people and those terrific EHS responders who have probably seen everything and then some. You guys are the greatest. —One Grateful TTFN

When SOBova’s gall bladder went supercritical we had nothing but the same caring professionalism every step of the way. I wasn’t lurking then or I would have posted a love much like this one, so a belated SCREEEE from another happy customer. Hope the HUB-UNIT is feeling better TTFN. >: )
He’s on the rebound, slow but sure. No broken bones but lots of internal bruising. The worst part are the meds – fucking Ty 3’s rip the guts right out of you and dries up the ol’ bunghole faster than you can say dusty torpedo. I’m thinking of rigging him up to the kitchen faucet so he’ll get enough water – couple of hundred gallons should clean him out.
Yes, I have shit on aspects of health care but I must say this new ER is well-organized and there’s actually private cubicles instead of one room and curtain walls.

i know folks who are paramedics and any emergency is better than dealing with drunks. apparently that takes up quite a lot of their time
I’m glad the ER came through for you, TTFN–that they did their job efficiently and with care–but, I think the kudos go to you. Your Hubby is very fortunate to have such a committed, caring and fierce woman looking out for him.
Hope he mends swiftly, TTFN. I’ve consumed a lot of health care. There’s a lot of care involved, and when people do it right, it restores a lot of faith in etc and so on.

Thanks, guys, I really appreciate your concern and support. This has been a five year battle for mobility so when stuff happens that sets poor Hub-Unit back, it can get pretty discouraging. I’ve been trying to talk him into using a wheelchair some of the time rather than the walker (his legs move like two stumps of Jello)so he would have some freedom but he’s still resisting. Understandable but I’m looking at it as a safety issue now.
