What the fuck is wrong with society today? I’m trying find a roommate for my new place, and this is the second time someone has stood me up for a viewing. I have no idea what the fuck went wrong; we emailed back and forth, I specified what I was looking for, and they seemed to match. They agreed with all the terms and conditions, and we set a date and time. Then the day comes, I’m up early trying to make sure I have everything ready and the place is spotless, and THEY DON’T FUCKING SHOW UP! WTF?! Seriously, not a call, not a text, not an email. I get NOTHING letting me know that they won’t make it. I seriously just wasted my day on these assholes and they don’t have the common fucking courtesy to let me know that they’re not coming. I’m not gonna fly off the fucking handle and tear you a new one if you call me to tell me you’re not coming. Seriously, WHAT THE FUCK? And this after I had to move from my old place because all my roommates were fucking douchebags. AND after the sub-letter just up and leaves with four months left on the lease. Now I’m left paying for both places, and having to deal with the fucking mess that bitch left on top of it all. AIN’T NOBODY GOT TIME FOR THIS SHIT! —Seriously

  1. Seems to me that they aren’t the ones with the problem.

New roommates won’t show, old ones are “douchebags”. Ever think of looking in a mirror to see the problem?

  2. well at least you have their email address to sign up for every online newsletter you can find…

  3. seems tome that you should be thinking of just you in a place, to hell with any roommmates. they can be from hell you know.

  4. and by the time it took this bitch to make it here, person has been contacted, and moved in, bet yas.

  5. You’re really having a crappy time of it. You see OP, people are uncaring jerks. It’s almost like there’s an epidemic of ..umm..apathy or… um..disinterest or rudeness. No that’s not it either. Epidemic of indifference! That’s it! No, it isn’t.

  6. If this who I think it is, I was your subletter. And car_guy is right, you were definitely the problem in the situation, not the rest of us who were subject to your craziness.

  7. I’m sure OP thinks he/she’s perfectly sane kmac9. How do you know you’re not crazy? I mean if OP was thinking along the same lines as you, they would think they’re crazy and if thinking like you means they’re crazy, doesn’t that mean you’re crazy? Hmmm?

  8. This is the OP and kmac, I don’t know who you are, but I was nothing but nice to my old subletter. When she needed extra time to pay the rent, I gave it to her. In fact, we basically had no other interaction other than when she was calling me for that. I never called her for anything, other than the one time her rent cheque bounced and I needed to get the money. How is that crazy? Maybe you think it’s perfectly fine for people to want to live rent free, but to me it’s not.

  9. And my old roommates WERE douchebags. Repeatedly I asked them to keep it down at night because I had to work early in the morning, and they’d keep it down for the rest of the night, but the next night it was as if it never happened. I get that people want to party, but when I moved into that place they specifically told me that there would be mature people living there, mostly graduate students and young professionals, and then the summer was up and the land lord rented the other rooms to first and second year students. It’s not my fault, I was told that they wouldn’t rent to that sort of people.

  10. And, car_guy, what the hell man? Way to pass judgement on someone you don’t even know. How is it my fault if these people don’t show up when they’ve given no indication that they’re thinking of backing out? I literally have NEVER met them. All interactions I’ve had with them are via email, telling them how much the rent is and all the amenities that are included. Even if I was a crazy cat lady that liked to wear skin suits, they wouldn’t know.

  11. Kudos for coming back to comment on your bitch. More people should be willing to do that.

I’m curious though, do you know what epidemic means? You’ve been stood up by 2 people.

  12. Raoul Duke, well it was hyperbole, but I was talking about my roommates and the previous subletter too, so not just two people.
