The winter storm thing only been going on a month now, and people are losing it. It’s a continual ice storm! Seriously, this will melt away pretty soon. You will still be a crankypants, but at least the snow will be gone.

Hey now, don’t be harping on something when it becomes convenient to do so. Only a ninja can do that and get away with it unnoticed, its a zen thing.
Also, now maybe people can finally accept/realize how low rent Halifax/Nova Scotia really is and let go of that ‘we’re a city’ falsehood. Big town, more like it.
Big cities: nice to visit…wouldn’t want to live there.
And therein lies the benefits to living in Halifax… close to many large centres, flights are relatively inexpensive comparatively. Sure, council is made up of a bunch of Rob Fords who buys road salt made up of magic beans, but $700 to go to Europe?!
The roads are great down here in the beautiful Annapolis Valley and we cover 100 times the geographical area at 1/100th the budget. Sucks to be you guys.
This is the worst snow removal operation I have ever seen in this city, and that includes White Juan. Then they have the audacity to say they are doing a great job. I wonder where that job is? The roads are deplorable with many have up to 4 inches of snow and ice on them. Sidewalks are impassible. And I don’t think they know what salt or gravel is as I have seen very little used. And now they are asking for more money. Ridiculous.
And where the hell is Mayor Savage?? I haven’t heard a peep out of him since this mess started? Is he even in the city?? Ok…enough of that…in all honesty, I walk and bus so the sidewalks are terribly important to me. Do I think the city did the best job? Well…the fact is the city took on the responsibility of sidewalks AND streets, and our recent whether gave us all a window of about 3 hours to clears the snow before the freezing rain started and turned 5 cm of snow into pure ice. So Mike, time to put the onus back on homeowners for the sidewalks and just focus on the streets. Oh…and tow the %$%$# cars on Young street already! I don’t care if the owner of Hamachi and the lame ass store no one goes to complains, you picked the Hydrostone knowing full well there is NO parking down there!
Mikey was on the radio saying people who called 311 to complain were stupid. He only comes alive when the word “stadium” is mentioned.
Oh, he was quoted on the news tonight saying his driveway was a mess… yep, messy driveway. He’s using the magic beans salt too.
I emailed my “DC” city counsellor complaining about the sidewalks and was told they would be meeting about it this afternoon. Fucking liar! The meeting was about spreading beet juice or pickle brine on the fucking roads – NEXT YEAR. It would appear they have absolutely no plans to clear the sidewalks of the ice but to allow mother nature to do that herself… useless!
Say what you may about Petey, but the ice and snow management was miles ahead on his watch.
