Stop stealing our water bowls! Every week when I go down to feed the “boys,” the one I put out the week before is gone. Buy your dog its own water dish and leave ours alone. We need them for fresh water every day. A lot of regular park visitors leave food but it’s water they need all year round, especially when it’s this hot. —Volunteer

  1. I don’t know all the facts here, but, is it possible that the water bowls are being picked up and disposed of as random garbage? Would it make a difference if you labelled them? Perhaps you could put up a sign, explaining their function.

Anyway, it can sometimes be hard world for the little creatures. Good on you for trying to make a difference.

  2. it’s a sad day when we have to chain dog water bowls to dog park signs…
    people suck.

  3. They are labelled, and the park employees know who they are for. It really pisses me off. As soon as I arrive they come straight to the water bowl, and drink for several minutes. I hope to catch someone one day, but I’m sure I won’t. They most likely do it in the evening when the cats (and volunteers) aren’t around.

  4. Ummm…I don’t think you want them back, the crusers in the park are using them for chalaces.

  5. …but the third bowl of er, ahem*cough cough* “porridge” was Juuuussssst Riiiiiggghhhtttt.
Read this week’s Savage Love for further exposition. >: 0

  6. One part concrete, one part liner, one part dollar-store bowl to use as mold form. Result? 10-20lb doggiebowl. Le’s see the idiots steal that for a change.
