I am sick of hearing about Michael Jackson! Sure he was a talented artist and he made big breakthroughs in the music inductry but he’s just a person like you and me. Many talented scientists, doctors, and teachers die every year and we don’t hear anything about them! Many people die or lose their children to fatal diseases and we don’t hear anything about them! There are children who are severely neglected and even die from abuse and that doesn’t get top story on cnn.com for days and weeks on end. It’s so absurd how we treat celebrities like they are better or even different than anyone else in the world.

And another thing…Michael Jackson very likely did inappropriate things with children and here we are praising him? Many people will object to me saying that but lets face it…no one settles out of court for bug bucks if they are truely innocent. If someone is really innocent they fight it to save their reputation no matter what.

Let’s just get some perspective here folks.

  1. Since the spectacle of the People’s Princess back in ’97, this is how the media treat their celebrity dead, especially if said celebrity generated billions of buckeroos over the decades. Jackson’s life was strange enough that it sold lots of tabloids and now they’re squeezing every last drop out while they can. What dismays me the most is when so-called credible networks like CNN are following suit.

  2. Yeah… CNN’s HLN pretty much went Michael Jackson exclusive so far this week, pretty damn annoying.

  3. I seen BET Awards and they should be ashamed..all the play they gave his abuser and hardly anything went to MJ…after all MJ did for music and crossing barriers and they did nada…

  4. The makers of music hardly care who you want to fuck, they care about the music, as does BET. There’s NOTHING you can say that would diminish MJ’s contribution to music…. obviously

  5. Stop being a hater. Michael Jackson was hugh and deserves all the media coverage. He paved the way for so many other artists. So suck it up princess

  6. The motherfucker had a sensor at the entrance to a long hallway leading to his bedroom. If someone entered the hallway, it triggered the sensor and set off an alarm in his room to let him know someone was coming. Why the fuck would someone need something like that unless they were up to some sketchy shit in their bedroom?

  7. Enough Said: Just out of curiosity, who did he pave the way for? He didn’t hit it huge with Thriller until 1982, so who came after 1982 that Michael Jackson paved the way for? I keep hearing this statement from everywhere and I want to know. Justin Timberlake? Sisqo? Don’t say pop – pop had always been around, Michael just put his 80’s, crotch-grabbing, jheri-curled spin on it. Don’t say black entertainers – black artists owned Motown and the roots of rock and roll. So what paving did he do? Seriously, please tell me.

So he has the highest selling album of all time. Number 2 is AC/DC’s Back in Black, number 3 is the Eagles’ greatest hits, number 4 is the Dirty Dancing soundtrack, and number 5 is the Bodyguard soundtrack. The point of this is to show that sales don’t say a whole lot about the actual quality of music, and your average consumer is a shit-for-brains walking nutsack. It is the nutsack demographic that is in mourning.

  8. “he has the highest selling album of all time,” I think that’s quite enough said about the “actual quality” of the music, onion.

  9. You obviously don’t remember his enormous success with the Jackson Five in the late 60s and 70s – this kid was no one-shot deal, he deserves some respect for his amazing talent. While I wasn’t particularly a Jackson fan, I certainly can appreciate what he contributed to the music world.

  10. Christ does not exist yet so many people talk about him, talk to him, give him money and they have for 2009 years… at least MJ existed and it has only been a week..

  11. LOL…. I hear that ….. I have no issue with folks needing a ‘god’ to assist them to be the best beings possible however that does not seem to be working out…so leave it alone…

The story of Christ is the best selling novel of all time…it is in its 2009th year…dang…..

I am sure Christ sold more books that MJ did albums… so while some may think MJ is getting more publicity that Christ..think again….not every one wears MJ around their necks….Christ is the greatest HOAX…. not the Hughes novel…

  12. onion…i love the Dirty Dancing Soundtrack and Back In Black. lol

Also- to the OP- I don’t recall hearing ANYBODY praising him for what he allegedly did (whether he did or not is irrelevant in your statement- no one is praising him for that. )…Only for his accomplishments in the music and entertainment industry.

  13. Yeah, amazing how 11 poor people, in the middle of nowhere, under Roman rule were able to construct a hoax, the Son of God, that has lasted almost 2,000 years. Funny how the all-powerful Romans couldn’t quash them and in fact within 300 years became them. Logic dictates it shouldn’t/couldn’t have happened, but it did.

  14. Very eloquently written and enlightening, More. You should run for municipal dog catcher.

  15. More, you and ostriches have something in common and it’s not that high-speed internet connection. See that thing flashing on the top of the screen? I know you do… that’s called ADVERTISING. Be careful. It’s a dangerous world out there without a Discovery Channel (far from “mentally challenged” media).

But you touch on a point near and dear to my heart… the hording of technology. When we were ancient man discovering the virtues of working together to, for example, farm or hunt, if family A had a technique or tool to ease the effort, family B was not left out of loop. Isn’t it to our overall greater benefit that family B SHOULD experience the benefits (or shortcomings) of the technology? I mean, family B could harbour an imagination surpassing that of family A, take that technique, idea or tool and make it into something greater or more useful… To me, that’s what technology is and it ought to be shared. Educate the masses and outfit individuals with resources/technology as it’s invented. The idea of “group sourcing” is beginning to catch on. Maybe governments will catch on soon too.

  16. More: uhh…thanks for that insane rant, which was completely unrelated to anything. You are a messiah for not paying for cable. Jesus christ…

  17. I agree each and everytime i turn on the
    A) Radio
    B) TV
    C) Internet

its all about MJ i was never a fan so it also annoys me

  18. ADDING TO THIS ->
MJ has always kept his children out of the media hense bags on the heads, blankets over them and whatnot SO>>> during his memoral they had his kids speak on his behalf.
If any one had any respect for him they would have kept his children out of the media!
